XCG-3 has a tungston (sic) sole. the XCG has a steel sole... I believe.

I just bought an XCG-3 and this wood never, ever wants to sit closed. I love it! It also looks like a mini version of my Titleist 909 d2. I swear the curves at address look so similar.

I have the 16* 2hybrid(xcg) & it's about the same degree as the 4 wood, but has a shorter shaft. The 4 wood is about 10-15yards longer than the 2hybrid for me anyway.

I have the hit all the TEE fairways, including the new XCG 3. For your money, skip the latest version, and find a V which will save you some $...it's closer to the 3

the XCG 3 is a great club and similar to the XCG-V which came after the original XCG
the XCG is a little smaller profile (not cure of cc) but I don't like the alignment aide on top...the V and the 3 have all black crowns. I'm gaming a XCG-V 4 wood now that is bigger then most 3 woods I've seen, but about 5-10 ccs smaller then the new XCG 3.

and if you want a lot smaller looking head and lower lanuch, more workable, less forgiving, then look at the CB2 or new CB3 Tour. I still have a 18* CB2 that I will never get rid of.

... I think the XCG3 is a cut above all the fairway woods TE has made. The entire face and top along with a little of the side is made of titanium and the weight distribution is just awesome. With much more weight low and all around the side, it is forgiving, solid and explosive. The guys at Exotics stand behind their 20 yards longer guarantee and have no doubts the XCG3 is longer than any wood they have produced. While everyone may not get an additional 20 yards, I think everyone will hit it longer. I was a little put off by the size at the PGA Show Demo Day, but after hitting it I got very comfortable very quickly. I have never liked a large 3 wood, but the XCG3 is the real deal...

I spent some time with the demos and reps and their fitting cart. I was looking for a new 3 wood and all the major companies were in town that weekend. Callaway, Titleist, Ping, Cobra, Taylormade etc. It came down to the white Motore 80 gram tour shaft in stiff and either the CB3 or the XCG-3 head. The CB3 was smaller, but not enough that it made a visual difference for me, but I didn't want the deeper face it has. The XCG is a bigger head, that sits lower, gets the ball up and NEVER sits closed at address. I was so impressed with how it set-up. Titleist fairways can creep to a closed position pretty easy for me.

I had them build the XCG-3 15* wood with the CB3 Motore tour shaft (it's made for shaft). Perfect!

Each of the TEE models does have a different construction from the others. The XCG-3 seems to be the best with the all titanium face and crown and the tungston sole and sides. Like Chisag said it feel and sounds explosive. The sound may not be for everyone though.

Anyone have any details on the Tour made for TEE Matores? Do they play softer, are they real etc?? so far the shaft is good stuff, but I know almost nothing about it.

... They are proprietary and Tour Edge Exotics has them built specifically to match their woods. They give a detailed description on their website:

After thinking about this all day and night i went with the XCG3 2hybrid instead of a 4 wood, i believe the hybrid will have about the same distance but be alot easier to hit out of the rough and tight lies and they are just so easy to hit out of the fairway. Cant wait to get this bad boy and see what it will do.

Is there a huge differende concerning head size between the TEE 3 and 5 woods and tITLEIST 909 f2 or f3 woods?
I was playing the 904F and now I have the XCG-3 3wood. Yes there is a difference in head size. the XCG looks a good deal bigger, but the shape is completely like a mini 909D2 if that makes since. I play a 909D2 driver, so this is a great look. I found the Titleist 909 fairways to have more pear shape, but again the XCG and 909D2 look more a like to me. It's almost like the XCG-3 fairway is what Titleist should have made to compliment the 909D2. The XCG-3 sits low so the increase in size feels fine. I was actually looking for a 3 wood that has a nice low profile since the deeper face of the 904f was sometimes a challenge for me. I hit my 3 wood off the deck 99% of the time.

The TEE CB3 fairway is smaller, but to my eyes it was minimal compared to the XCG-3 fairway.

The new 909 F2 and F3 have a higher pitched impact sound than previous Titleist woods, but it's also very weak sounding to me. The TEE XCG-3 is very much a higher pitched sound, but it's also very powerful sounding. That's an aspect that's completely personal. When I began my search to replace my 904F I wanted a muted sound, but I quickly feel in love with the XCG-3 sound. It reminds me of the old Callaway fairways.

So would you say a XCG-3 and XCG-V are more difficult to hit of the deck?
What about the headsize of the Exotics in compariosn to Cleveland Launcher (not dst version) or R9?
I think the XCG series is loads easier to hit off the deck. shallower face, more moi, better weighting.
