Miura Drivers?

Better than the rest?

Are they better than the other stuff out there? I know they would have to be good considering it's well...Miura. But are they much better than the rest? I know them for irons, never tried their drivers. I'm diggin the 909D2 right now, or the 910 when it's launched. Just wondering how it would compare.

Had a very long period with the Miura Driver... It has to be one of the best feeling drivers ever made IMO.

I had it shafted with quite a few high end shafts, TPHD Proto, F7M2 and TP7/x. The head is very long.

My only compaint is that it sit alittle shut..

I may grab another at some stage and try and shim it open.

Don't know if necessarily better than a lot of stuff out there, but definitely sounds similar to a 983e or 510tp.

I have one and it is small, maybe 390cc at most. That makes it more of a players club and not too forgiving, regardless of what the company says about being easier to square up at impact. Unless you never miss farways I would stick with a larger head.

I had a chance to hit one and did not like it. The head is very small and sets up with a closed face.

I currently have a 390 cc head driver. So it wouldn't be much of a change for me. Right now I'm leaning towards the 909D2 or the 910 when released.

Tried the Miura precious 10.5 today, unfortunately with a shaft too stiff for me, nothing special. I think. Maybe with a diff shaft though... 0.o

I have a 10.5 with a fuji motore speeder 7.1 and a 9.5 with a oban kiyoshi. I have tried alot of drivers but always go back to the md 390. I think the 390 cc head is easier to hit. 460 look like a pumpkin now.

Today my clubfitter let me try his 10.5 Miura 390 cc head for a round, shaft a little too still but I was hitting it pretty far. Not crazy about the feel, but it is still nice. Smaller doesn't mean it will go less farther though

I have experimented with several different shafts and have come to one realization. The feel of the club has everything to do with the shaft. I have had the 9.5 feel terrible pingy and weak with the wrong shaft, but with the kyoshi it feels like a different head. I weight everything to D4 so i am comparing apples to apples. I really think you can make most driver heads feel good with the right shaft and swingweight.

was not really impressed with this head at all. I figured that if it was anything like the irons, it would be a very nice set up, but it didnt do anything for me. Looks closed at address and ball speed numbers were not different from other stock drivers that I tried.

I had a chance to hit a buddy's driver and was not impressed. Honestly, there's really nothing special about it. However I am gaming an epon 102 so maybe that's why?

If anyone is looking for a used one you might be lucky as my friend is seriously thinking about unloading his.

Epon AF-102 driver features better than Miura drivers.But Its high launch, low spin driver is suited to all golfers. Ball speed off the face is very good.

Yes but the Epon is super expensive...$1300 just for the head I believe.

Go try a VEGA RAD-01 if you can. I have one, got it 2 weeks ago, and it is the best driver I have ever had. Stable, soft impact feel and long. Plus, its is 440 cc, but at adress it still looks pretty compact and powerful, not huge at all. I have mine fitted to a Miyazaki Kusala Black series shaft, and its just great. Is Miura even PGA Tour proven? I don't think I can name one player who has won with Miura in the bag. I think that answers your question sufficiently.

Miura doesn't pay for tour players to play them. The tour issue stuff is usually stellar...compared the consumer level.
However, their irons are so good that Taylormade issued I think 400 sets, just for tour players. So basically if anyone won with those clubs, Miura wouldn't pay them, but TM would.

Seriously? So by that logic Mizuno products are of lower quality than Taylormade products?
