Golf Package Companies

Myrtle Beach &/or Pinehurst area

Hey Everyone

Some buddies and I are planning to trip next spring in March most likely and area wondering about golf package companies that are considered to be the best. As in choices of accomidations/courses/service for the price. We've also been considering whether to go to Myrtle Beach (which I've been several times but not using a package company) or the Pinehurst area in NC.

If we go to Myrtle Beach we're mostly likely will not have to worry about places to stay as part of the package since I would have access to timeshare resort space in the area (unless it would be a better price to include hotel/course vs course package only). For Pinehurst we would defiantly would need a package to include all.

any suggestions of package companies for these areas would be appreciated.

For a trip to Pinehurst, I would suggest getting in touch with Greg Austin at AME Golf. Price wise, you may find a better deal in the area, but Greg is able to get you on courses unavailable with many other packages. Depending on how may golfers go on the trip, Greg has several condos available, so everybody can stay in one or two places versus being divided up into scattered hotel/motel rooms.

I think AME Golf can arrange Myrtle Beach trips, as well.

Definitely check out Myrtle Beach Golf Directors. Been dealing with them for about 5 1/2 years for 2 trips a year. Always come up with a great place to stay and great courses.

I'll second the vote for Brian Noblin. I'm booking my 4th trip through him this year. I've also used "Myrtle Beach Golf Trips" with excellent results. They are affiliated with Burroughs & Chapin who operate a lot of good courses in MB and they provided an excellent package price on their courses.

For Myrtle Beach use www.golfdesk.com and for Pinehurst go with Tobacco Road travels. If you are going to play Tobacco Road on the Pinehurst trip nobody can come close to their prices. Went this year and same package with AME was $100 more per person. We have used the golf desk for or Myrtle Beach trip for the last 13 years and have never had a problem and have the best prices. If any course is in terrible shape during your trip they will always give you a big discount on your next trip or refund you some money if you don't go yearly.

Thank you for the offer I'll keep that in mind to PM you if we decide on Pinehurst for some insider tips/advice of area courses.

Thanks for the adivice everyone. sometimes doing an internet search or reading the ads in golf magazines can be overwhelming and confusing who to choose. I always like to take the advice of people that have used these companies services since they can give you a better picture of the service you'll receive.

I've used Tobacco Road Travel for several Pinehurst - Sand Hill trips. Ask for Kelli. Very good service, selection of courses, and prices.

Once on a trip out there we were playing Southern Pines and were schedule to play Mid Pines the next day. While on the front nine at Southern Pines, Kelli called a guy in our group to tell us that Mid Pines maintenance crew pushed up the date of them punching the greens from later that week to today. While still on the phone with her, she got us on the National Golf Club of Pinehurst, a premium course in their roster, for no additional charge. Sure enough, our tee was set before we finished the hole. That's service and why my group uses Tobacco Road Travel for every trip out there.

Whatever you do, there are two must play courses...


If you go to Myrtle, play Glen Dornach.

In both cases, these courses are about 30-40 minutes north of these towns.

That is the only thing that keeps them off the radar.

They are two of my favorite courses.
