Why do you play where you do?

all of the above. boredom is a factor me. I can play the same course 4-5 times in a row then I need to switch it up.

The group that I play with always try to play a different course than the last. Since they play every Thursday, this makes it so much easier to repeat a lot of courses. The price is a factor, but not the biggest. Course condition is huge to us. We don't want to spend $35 to play at a goat ranch. This also involves the layout. If it isn't that challenging, then there is no reason to play it. It is a rarity that we play the local 18 hole muni, because it is flat, short, and expensive for what it is. That is just us tho.
I also play with a friend of mine that walks and plays the courses that have the cheapest Green's Fees. That is because he looks at golf as a luxury and not a necessity. I am pretty sure that is why he plays Warrior Custom Golf Clubs, too. But don't get it twisted, he is like a 2 or 3 handicap! LOL.

Its in terrible condition. But its the only course in the country within 500km. Its only 10-15 min from home and is cheap. Any other courses entail an international border crossing. in Africa that is guaranteed to take the shine off even the best round on the most beautiful of courses.

Its playable, just. We can place 2 clubs on the fairway as they get so sandy in the dry season and so wet in the wet season. But at the end of the day its really about getting out with your mates, having a mildly competitive round and a few cold and frosties

I have two also, both five to ten minutes from work or home so the convenince is great. The private one is usually in great shape, has terrific practice facillties and is where the money games are. The public is still pretty decent and less than $500/year and is where the group I play with the most plays, however it's normally a little slower pace of play (sometimes it takes us almost 3 1/2 hours to finish, I know poor us ).

I feel pretty darn lucky golf wise.
