I put this in one of my putters and the feeling was absolute love. The problem is that I could not make a thing with the putter afterwords. Put the original shaft back in and started rolling them in again. Tried the shaft in 2 other putters and the feeling was great, but couldn't make a putt. Probably not the shafts fault, but that was my experience with it. It did feel sweet though...

I really like the feel of the UST FF shaft. I have one in a Cameron Newport Buttonback. It feels really solid.

I play one in a very heavy Machine and love it compared to a regular shaft. It made the putter feel more solid.

I have never tried one on a more normal weight putter head, but I can see where it would make the swing weight feel off. I would think most of the shaft weight is at the bottom. My heavy Machine has an aluminum Machine grip that probably helps counters that.

Yeah I also think the fact that both putters I tried it on the shaft installs right at the putter topline. This increases the amount of graphite on the grip end vs a plumbers neck type putter. Swingweight was around E3-E4+ with a Large IOmic (79g I believe).

I would like to try one in a plumbers neck before I write it off as not for me.

First putter I tried it on was a Rife IBF blade design. Second was an Odyssey White Hot 2 Ball mallet (hated this one the most, couldn't feel anything). Last was a Mizuno T.P. Mills blade design. The feel was great on all three, I just couldn't hit the broad side of a barn rolling the putters. I have a relatively long putting stroke so might be different for someone with a more compact swing, not sure.

Hey guys, I should have used the search feature ... I found a lot of additional info on the shaft by searching "frequency filtered." My bad.

Like I said, my plan is to install it in a new Taylormade TM-110 ghost head, with a white Winn Excel midsize grip. I'll update this in a week or so when the build is complete and I've tried it out.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Well guys, I finished building the putter and have had a chance to test it out a few times. In short, it turned out to be a great putter and I really like the performance of the Frequency Filtered shaft.

The components were a new TM-110 2011 Ghost Daytona head, a new 2011 White Wynn Excel midsize grip, and the UST Mamiya Frequency Filtered shaft. I posted some pictures of the components and the final build down below.

As some folks have mentioned, the swingweight with this set-up is a little heavier than I was used to. With the lower half of the shaft steel, and the top part of the shaft graphite, the balance point is much lower even thought the overall weight is similar to conventional shafts. That being said, it plays like a lighter putter. When I say that I mean that you get such good feel and feedback that it doesn't feel anywhere near as "dead" as some of the heavy putters out there.

Some have said that this shaft makes hits on the sweet spot feel great but the mishits feel bad. I disagree somewhat. You get excellent feedback. The sweet spot putts feels pure and there is just enough feedback to let you know when you don't hit it dead center; just what you want from a good putter.

It's hard to tell whether the majority of the results come from the new TM-110 head or the Frequency Filtered shaft, but suffice it to say the combo is working out great and it will be in the bag for quite a while.

Enjoy the pics and let me know if you have any questions. Cheers.

Love this shaft and have used it since it came out years ago. I play non-insert and firmer feeling heads and while this softens the feel a tad form the original all steel shaft, I find at the same time, it enhances feedback. Maybe it just gives the feel I am comfortable with or have grown to like, In any case, I don't see myself switching out anytime soon.

I have ... and I like it a lot ..I have a machine reverse arch standard size on it now and I really like the grip too...Its a lot like the accra graphite I had recently ... very good feel and gives the head slightly more heavy feel..not much just enough to notice ...which I liked..

I had the UST filtered shaft on a putter - it does filter and offers a more direct feel - when your strike if off, it will tell you. Some want that feedback, others, not so much.

Anyone tried using one of these with a Superstroke? Am thinking that one would counteract the other? Or will you still get the benifits?

Am thinking of putting one in a 2ball protype

This....anyone tried this shaft with a Superstroke??

Yes, no issues. My son also went that route. Can't remember everything - it was over a year ago that I switched to the Edel E-1 with their round grip. Now I did not use a big, fat Superstroke. I think the mid 2.0 if I got the model name correct.

Finally received my newly build putter. The head is a Yes Callie, and my club builder added the UST Mamiya Frequency Filtered shaft and the SNSR 104 cc Pistol grip. In my opinion the putter looks great, I always liked the Callie, as the head is quite heavy. The combination of the "heavy" grip, which should counterbalance the heavy head, with the shaft which helps to keep the swing weight high gives this putter the perfect feeling, at least for me. The vibrations are filtered out, and you know exactly where you hit the ball.

I played 18 today and the putter saved my live, which is a first for me. I had no 3 putt, and holed 3 from 8 meters. This putter is a keeper!
