Kevin Colbert vs. Tom Slighter

am I missing something???

Colbert gave me a $70 bid for the Black Oxide and paintfill and Slighter gave me $96. Who has sent a putter to each for a refinish??? How do they compare???

Sorry, I don't know anything about Colbert, but as far as Slighter golf, he refinished my Slighter Seattle in a 3x black finish and it is top notch.

Kevin does great work, just doesn't have the overhead.

Kevin is not a putter maker, he just does refinish work.

I'm a true believer in Tom at Slighter Golf. Not only does he do great work, he is an excellent comunicator. All my e mails were returned that day. Also his attention to detail is awesome eg. paintfill, soundslot all that fun stuff.

I have never dealt with Kevin Colbert before but Tom Slighter is currently building me a Portland Proto and let me say that not only is Tom a master craftsman making a putter but he is also a true gentleman and a great guy. I am very serious when I say that you will be impressed with Tom's work and chances are very good during the process you will become friends with Tom!

I hate to sound like a typing advertisement but more often than not you hear the horror stories about customer service and not the positive stories that consumers get.

I think reading this and every other reply in the thread you won't go wrong no matter who you send it to! I have never heard a bad word about Mr. Colbert or my friend Mr. Slighter.

Another vote for Kevin...he does top notch stuff, his refinishing is excellent and is engraving is amazing. Unlike Tom who Stamps his putters Kevin actually engraves them, it comes out looking much cleaner. The putter I had engraved and refinished came out amazing...so good that I am sending him 5 more putters to have done.

I can second that. Tom has become a great friend of mine. And you will love your Portland. That I can guarantee. I've sunk quite a few 30+ footers with it. Added weights in mine to make help me make more of a solid stroke.
