Got to 201 mph ballspeed last night

those swings i made when i started this thread were all out. ive been making some changes to my real swing recently so hopefully it wasn't just a freak day i had on the vector. i'll get some ld videos and numbers up as soon as i can...

got to 198mph a number of times today. no luck breaking 200 again yet. I couldn't help but hit HUGE snappers and pull snappers with the stock clubs I was hitting (diablo forged, razr forged, TM SF) hit 137-138mph a few times but smash factor wasn't good.

209mph ballspeed with titleist 910d2 w/ ahina stiff... swinging hard today - swingspeed hit 145mph! quite a few shots around 200-206 ballspeed. sorry - this has kind of turned into a blog. oh well.

@Addison: Get yourself some real LD gear. Swinging with those Noodles aren't going to help you any. There are great deals on 9064LD heads from Sellinger's power golf now. If you call them they might still have some demo heads available for even cheaper. HOF Shafts all the way. Figure out what kind of shaft you normally play, give Robert a call at House of Forged. He'll get you squared away.

Wait you are getting 201 ball speeds? Sorry it just does not seem that fast and I grew up with about half a dozen long drive guys (guys like Vince Howell) Not doubting you, but 120+ swing speed has an entirely different sound than what that video is coming back with. I used to stand on it into the low 120's, but that seems low teens at best. Either way doesn't matter how, just how far in this world.

The r flex shaft seems quite rediculous and also that video doesnt seem like a 120mph swing, not trying to be rude just honest. Its cool that you have seen 200mph+ ball speeds but its hard to blieve unless theres the proof of a trackman, or even just yardege. The best i ever did recorded was a 175 mph ball speed with a 340 carry 3 yards roll superfast tp x stiff. Id say try looking for a low torque low launch x stiff or xx stiff shaft, ive only herd amazing things about HOF

sure. thats where i hit over the winter. thats not where i was getting my launch numbers, though. fyi, i haven't even touched those speeds again on the launch monitor since april-ish. im also not trying to swing that hard as the misses are MUCH bigger doing that. i have enough trouble as it is trying to hit fairways.

update: I've been on and off about selling my Matrix Tp6hd in my superfast tp 1.0. It's the longest combo I've ever used, but it's really only been good to me in terms of LD-type swings and I just can't seem to justify having that sort of shaft sitting in the corner. I can't seem to get good results with it on the course and that's been my focus for the last few months. I took what I thought would be a few last swings with it before I would the shaft but put up some ridiculous numbers so I decided not to yet again. I maxed out around 131mph for swing speed but was being really efficient with my launch and spin. I really wasn't catching the ball perfectly, but it was slightly high on the face so the ball wasn't spinning at all. I couldn't seem to square the face so everything was cutting around 100-550rpm. Backspin averaged ~2200, LA was around 15*, some of the earlier swings were high 160s but I believe I was maxed around 187, descent angle averaged 38* (might've been a little higher as I do recall some swings were ~43*) - I hit a few absolute monsters - the longest one was 338 carry/355 total. Another was 322 carry, 349 total (hit a little high on the face as the smash wasn't great and I think it only spun ~1200rpm)...a few others were ~320-325 carry/340-345 total.

That side spin issue is something I'd like to fix through equipment. I've always had more of a cut swing. Anyway, is there an LD club that is better for someone who has a positive angle of attack, comes from the inside (maybe a little too much), but leaves the face a few degrees open? I'm not talking much - I really need 300-500rpm of side spin help. A simple square faced/zero weight bias club would be perfect.

140 SS with a 10* launch with a R-flex stock shaft in a TM SF is kinda fishy.
