UST Proforce v2 Tour Flight

Just installed a V2 Tour Flight X tipped 3/4" today in my 910 D3. Absolutely LOVE it!!!! Smooth, long, straight and great trajectory. Ball takes off hard, levels out, hangs in the air and releases when it hits the ground. Much better than the Ahina I had in it and also the 757 Speeder X that I installed. Best $25 I've spent in years.

So, does anyone want to sell me one of their .335 X flex V2 TF's? Sounds like a possible solid option for me, and can't beat the value (especially if you can move it)

Feel free to PM me, I can go to Diamond Golf and get one still but never been a fan of the "clone" club people (15 years in the golf business)

Thanks
Fej

Just picked mine up, it was installed in a 9064LS.

Knew I wasnt going to like the purple. So I toomk some fake carbon fiber looking 3M vinyl and wrapped the purple section.

I think it turned out pretty good. Much better than staring at purple.

And its currently snowing, either go to the heated range tomorrw if I'm desperate to hit it or take it to golftown and

talk them into letting me "compare" it to the R11 or something.

That vinyl install looks great. Is that the DI NOC stuff you used? Did you lay it on before installing the grip? Bonding agent ?

Could you do a quick comparison of the v2 TF to the speeder 757? Thanks.

These are my opinions on what I think of the two shafts and others might have different thoughts or results. I haven't had the V2 on a monitor yet but this is what I can feel and see with my eyes. V2 TF trajectory is slightly lower and seems to have a little more roll. This is key for me as I hit a high ball. If I get my swing speed up to around 118-120pmh the 757 Tour X feels smooth otherwise it feels boardy. V2 feels smooth from 110mph all the way up and distance is slightly longer. V2 doesn't feel as harsh on off center hits but is still forgiving. Easily work V2 both ways but 757 was a little harder to do so. I've only hit about 100 balls with the V2 so far and I really like what I've witnessed. Many have said they don't like the purple but it doesn't bother me a bit. It could have "Tinky Winky" written up and down the shaft and I wouldn't care. People would say, "You hit the crap out of that D3 with Tinky Winky shaft!"

I ordered one with a Purple NDMC grip. $19 shipped. Perfect for my school colors which are Purple/Yellow! I haven't hit it yet though, but I just got the call from my club saying that its ready. I can't wait for practice today!

Do you play V2's labels up or down? Does it matter on the shaft's performance?
Thanks

Ive got mine label to the right. More down, with just a bit peeking out up at me. I had it label down before, but its such an ugly shaft that I needed something to break up the look.

I agree w/ RJRJR the shaft is a bit oogly label down, reminds me of the old Star Trek uni's. This is one instance when label up is better.

If you all really don't like the look and want something cheap to cover it, use some 3/4" heat shrink tubing. Of course you need to apply it before you put the grip or clubhead on.

I have the prodorce fairway so it's the black gray gold captain Kirk look. I took RJ's advice and turned it a quarter so the V2 graphics are on the trailing side. Looks fine now and I love how it performs in my 3 and 5 woods.

Based off Carlo's input, I just ordered one for a 3446 and and for another Speedline Tour 20* head I purchased at the same time. Figured this will be a great backup set as it will be the same as the primary.

My very first 'good' club was an old R5 with a v2 66. lol circle of life I suppose

Any tipping advice? I am currently a 110-112 guy who is going through a swing change that used to be a 117-120 guy. I have a .335 X that I planned on tipping 1/2" and playing at 45" in an R11 Dot head. I am a high launch, low spin guy so I don't necessarily need to cut a ton of spin. Last LM session I was in the 1800-2200 range with the driver at 13-16*, with some combo's getting into the 2900 range.

Thanks in advance

I was in the same boat as you albeit with stiff flex though.

First, I found this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Ust-Proforce-V2-Tour-Flight-Stiff-Flex-0-335-9000S-/200570649343

From this link, I was able to identify which shaft I had. In this case, the .350 tip was the 9006 product code. Yours would be the .335 tip whose product code is 9000.

They include the same swing speed recommendation chart found on UST's site which is here.

http://www.ustmamiya.com/shaft_models/product.aspx?id=107

Just click on the "Click Here" for swing speed pdf.

Based on this, looks like the recommended swing speed for .335 tip v2 tour flight is from 100 - 116mph.

Given your swing speed, I think 1/2" tipping should do the trick but will let others chime in.
