which game improvement irons ?

stepping down from MP-37
Im playing Mizuno mp37 for over a year now and im just not good enough for them.
Now that im working on my swing, it gets worse and worse, as im not constant by any means and lost my confidence. Today on the round i felt like a hacker and decided i need to get a set that really fits me.
Im now looking for a game improvement iron set that doesnt look like a huge shovel like the cally Big Bertha. Workability is the least i care about.
Price doesnt matter as i`ll stick with them for some time if i like them.
Thanks for your advice guys !

This might sound crazy to you but if you like the feel of the 37's just not how hard they are to hit, and you don't want to go to the shovel, step 'down' to a mp33. I think those are just as easy to hit as a whole heep of forged cbs out there now, and they feel wonderful.

Thanks for your suggestions, just one thing, im really done with blades for now, so im not considering mp30s/33s or even 60s, if you saw me play recently you`d know why. I`ll keep the mp37s in the garage for better times, but in the coming weeks im rebuilding my swing and i need something totally easy to hit. I`ll give the MX900 and MX23 a try, and i´ve heard good things about the Cleveland CG4 and Ping G5, im also keen on the Ping Rapture. You guys have it good, over here in Austria im having such a hard time finding demo-clubs and a good fitter.

Wait on Mizzys new Game Improvement clubs or the new Callaway X-20's.

Are those the MP-80s and will they replace the MX-900s ?

When will mizuno and callaway release their new irons ?

Any info appreciated, ty

If you don't want clunky looks but want forgiveness, look into a mid-sized as opposed to over-sized head. Some examples are; Mizzy MX-23's, TM LT's, Ping I5's, Cally X-Tours, Titliest 704's/804's or 775's, Cleveland CG4 Tours, Nike Pro Combo OS (they aren't really oversized) or NDS, Wilson Ci6. Those are just current models. You could also check out X-14 Pro Series, TA-7 tours, MX-20's, or some others I'm forgetting.

Be sure to take into account shafts. The Dynamic Gold's in your MP-37's launch the ball low and are generally for higher swingspeeds. Look into a softer-tipped shaft (Nike Speedstep, Cleveland Action Lite, True Temper Dynalite, Nippons, etc...) if you want more height.

Be sure to try as many options as possible before buying. You just never know what could work.

Good luck. :help:

I had your same problem one year ago!

After so many tries I bought a set of Taylor Make XD with Graphite Shaft.

Man o man those were fantastic!! I have been playing them for 5 months until my swing was back in shape and I could hit again cavity back blades and I purchased the actual Titleist 775CB (because I really love the feeling of forged irons).

I still have my XDs and I will never get rid of them as they are the hospital where I will go if my swing problem should come back again... :help:

Try them and you will see the difference...

I really like my X-18 Pro Series, especially for those days when my swing isn't at its finest (which is more often than I'd like.....). But if you want to stay with forged Mizuno feel, the MX-23 are another great iron. Neither the MX-23 nor the X-18 Pro has too much offset, nor too thick of a topline, but both are infinitely more forgiving than the MP-37 (but so is pretty much anything else on the market.....)
