Sedona, Arizona golf

Im going to be in sedona for almost a week and I wanted to get some opinions on some golf courses that I should try to play and what kind of prices im looking at for the courses. Thank you.

Sedona Golf Resort, Oakcreek and Seven Canyon's keep us busy when we're there, but I don't recall prices, sorry. For that matter, we just got back from seven days of desert golf, and I couldn't tell you how much the rds or anything else cost.

The three listed by PT are pretty much your choices other than an executive type course called Canyon Mesa that got a good review from one of our members here (good value pricewise).

As for rates, all three are on GolfNow.com.

Oakcreek CC is an RTJ design from the 60's. Old school, tree-lined parkland type of course. Relaxing round but nothing to write home about.

Sedona Golf Resort is a Gary Panks - above average golf with great views.

Seven Canyons is a Weiskopf designed private course that has opened to the public due to financial difficulties. I have not played it but many have recommended it worthy of a visit. Probably the most expensive of the three, but also the best quality.

There is another course down the road a ways in Cottonwood called Verde Santa Fe. Avoid.

Flagstaff is not far away but is truly a public golf wasteland. Some very nice private clubs however, including the nationally recognized Forest Highlands. If you have access, the Canyon course is currently #54 Golfweek Modern list. I have heard that one of the newer privates, Flagstaff Ranch, is struggling and accepting limited outside play. Could be worth a phone call.

Flagstaff is 2000 ft higher than Sedona and therefore a bit cooler.

Thank you for the responses. I was looking on golfnow(I have never used that site before) and are the prices really that cheap!? I could get a round at sedona golf resort for around $30-35. That's like half the price of the normal rates.

Golfnow will definitely save you a good deal of money more often than not.

Dahl & DeLuca is a very nice Italian joint with DELICIOUS food.

The Hideaway is also a nice casual place with a cool porch that overlooks the flowing creek.


Also, let me know the dates if you don't mind, I have a free round of golf for oak creek country club that I need to use, and depending on the timing I'd be willing to drive up there for a Sat or Sunday round.
