LPGA iron shafts

What do they play?

For those of us with swing speeds in the '90's, instead of in the 110's, which is probably a lot of us, and for those of us for which the B330RX and the B330RXS were aimed, what iron shafts do the ladies on the LPGA Tour use?

I assume that Nippon 950GH and 1050GH are popular. What flex?

And, what else?

Nippon, the lighter DG shafts, some even use kbs 90 shafts. I have a friend who used to play on the LPGA tour that I grew up with back in highschool. She used to game nippons in stiff flex. She also told me that the girls on tour usually go with lighter steel shafts in either regular or stiff.

I have a combo set of i15/s56 with KBS 90s in stiff and they work pretty well for me. Swing the driver about 93-96 with a smooth tempo.

Rotate in a set of 710 AP2s with PX 5.5. I like them too but I think I will soft step them if that is possible (need to post that question still).

Nippon is the predominant shaft used in irons. Quite a few Women are using different True Temper and Rifle models. Some are using graphite shaft iron shafts, like Stacy Lewis.

Nippon has 70 - 100 Ladies in their iron sets, including World #1 Yani Tseng, Karrie Wood, Morgan Pressel, Paula Creamer, Ai Miyazato, etc.

A post from someone with less than 115+ ss?!!! C'mon, man up and admit you average 310 off the tee. Seriously, the LPGA plays a game that I can relate to. 180 yard 8 irons, no way, 180 yard 4-hybrid, yes.

Just reviving this older thread to see how shafts have changed. I'm assuming a lot more specialised graphite shafts? Haven't sleuthed through the WITBs recently.

Anyone know trends?

Indeed - lots of Nippon 950GH, and 1050GH in the case of Carrie Webb. Lydia Ko always seems to play very light shafts in comparison with most others - Recoil 660 now. Quite a range of weights in iron shafts.

Don't forget the Champions Tour also... Paul Goydos won last week using DG XP95 S300 shafts.
