In early February I received an email offer for a "Complete Set Of Irons" from Warrior Custom Golf. I was somewhat familiar with the product and the company's somewhat tainted reputation for their marketing techniques. "What the hell" I thought, I'll call and check them out. Once on the phone with a Warrior sales rep I learned that the complete set was a complete set of wedges and I would only get them if I would agree to test play their irons. I was told I had to pay $399 for the irons which would be refunded promptly if I didn't like the clubs. I told the rep I would have to chew on that for a day or two. The rep asked me for my phone number and I foolishly gave it. The next day he called me and asked if I was ready to pull the trigger and get custom fitted for "The best clubs you'll ever play". (As an aside, their "Custom Fitting" consists of asking you your age, weight, height, inseam, how far you hit a driver and do you draw or fade). I told him that I had done some research in the last 24 hours on the company and I just wasn't comfortable. He sweetened the deal by throwing in a driver, 3 wood and 19 degree hybrid. I bit and gave him my credit card number which they hit in about fifteen minutes for the aforementioned $399.00.

Yesterday was 4 weeks since I ordered the clubs and I called to get a status update. I was told the irons and wedges would be delivered in the next two weeks. I asked "What about the woods and hybrid?" I was told that the deal was that if I liked the irons and agreed to keep them, the additional three clubs would be shipped to me. This was not part of the agreement I had made. I was told that they would agree to send the woods and hybrid with the irons if I agreed to a 'final sale'; in other words I would have no recourse if I didn't like the clubs.

I cancelled the entire deal and now I have to get my credit card company involved. What a waste of time and effort. I really would have liked to try their clubs out but I'm not going to put up with tactics like this.

LOL sorry, I dont mean to laugh at your misery, but I really was laughing while I read your post.

Credit cards are usually pretty good about taking care of you. Hope it all works out, although now they have your phone # and address :(

This afternoon I am doing what I should have done in the first place; go to a reputable local retailer and get fitted for a legitimate set of clubs.

Good luck. You will need it.

Just to be careful you should enter the federal witness relocation program. Perhaps then you might escape the reach of Warrior golf. But probably not.

Warrior golf scam/selling techniques

Hi all I've just had one of those " special offers " from warrior
But wasn't sure how to take it I'd never heard of them before and nobody I know in the UK has ever bought any of those clubs
However after reading all the posts on here I can't see myself or any of my golfing buddies buying any of their equipment
I had toyed with the idea of trying it out
I was quoted $299 for shipping a *free* driver to the UK
But I think I'll stick with my cobra driver ( which is the best I've ever used anyway ) just now
I will also warn off my buddies if I ever head of this company offering anything to them
Thanks guys
Muchas gracias

Not gonna lie, I'm really nervous now. I got an email from GolfLogix about this offer. Once I got on the phone, I "vetted" out the test play program (they send me a 3 wood and all 3 wedges in their set for $150) and then I test it out and send back the 3 wood if it doesn't play better than my current. I've got a tracking number and the clubs should be here on Thursday (all 4 of them) with a form to fill out to send back the 3 wood after I play with it.

My hope is that I don't get mixed up in some issue to send the 3 wood back, I was really looking forward to playing a set of wedges that I know the loft on :)

I guess since I got the offer from GolfLogix (who I thought was a reputable source to be pitching equipment) that I wouldn't have any issues. Heres hoping things work out, I guess worst case scenario is I end up with a crappy 3 wood and mediocre wedges for $150 bucks...

If this was as bad as it gets you would be fine but, the constant additional charges to your credit card and the phone calls will drive you nuts for many years to come.

You need to cancle the credit card to make the mess that is coming go away.

I don't consider it a SCAM, they are upfront and their equipment is passable. I took the free hybrid a couple of years ago and did not buy anything else. They call me about once a year and try to sell me something but I never buy. They hybrid worked fine but I never gave it a place in my bag. It is the backup to my backups, backup (assuming I can find it in my closet.

I'll throw in 2 good Warrior stories-

1. About 3 years ago, I bit for a "John Daly" gap wedge along with assorted other items for 29.99. The wedge is fine for what I need but the other items in the box included a hat, some tees, 3 Warrior balls, a cleaning tool and a couple of other silly things. I thought I got my $30- worth, all things considered, until I got to the bottom of the box.

They had thrown in a calendar, a standard type with each month displayed beneath a picture of one of the golf courses they own or manage. It was nice but no big deal until I came to the last page- there were 12 coupon, one each for a free round of golf at their different properties, valid just for that upcoming year.

Well, my friend and I drove all over the place on our way to Florida that June and played their courses in Asheville, NC; Atlanta, GA; Spartanburg, SC; another in Tennessee; and both St. Augustine and Ocala, FL. I played 6 times for free and 4 courses let her play free, too. Only one course insisted on a cart fee.

I got my $30- worth for sure.

2. The course in St. Augustine, FL has a Players Club deal with reduced driving range buckets, reduced greens fees, that kind of thing and they also include either a dozen Warrior balls or a 5 or 7 fairway wood...all for 59-. I have both the 5 and the 7 now and they perform beautifully. The 7 in particular is magic. That's been a good deal, saving about $3 per bucket and per round, to the point where the woods have cost me nothing.

I was skeptical until saw the operations. Legitimate operations. All custom golf clubs are not for every golfer. warrior does make good irons and wedges. As good as a set of mid-priced Taylormade or Titiest. The price is attractive for custom golf clubs, fit to your size, both for male and female players. Just like all the golf channel infomercials with game improving clubs promoted by former PGA players, not all clubs are for everyone.

I took the same offer. Kept the irons and hybrid and returned the others for the refund. If you work with them, they will work with you.

New and 3 posts. All to praise 2 old Warrior topics (other one 4 years old). Interesting.

Is this Mr or Mrs Warrior? Or one of the Warrior children?
