What is your favorite ball marker?

What is your best ball marker, or what do you usually mark your ball with?

 

I used to have an elaborate collection from trade shows and corporate golf outings, but I never really liked all that crap on the course. I guess I'm kind of old school but I've always liked a shiny quarter.

 

Now I have a TCU Horned Frogs marker that I use because my daughter went to college there and I paid a lot of money for that ball marker!

Just a plain old quarter, tails up, always.

Ive been buying the womens FJ glove and it has a magnetic FJ marker on it. I've been saving them lol.

OT, but the womens Sofjoy glove is a really great glove. I can never find the Cadet Small in stock so I get the womens large.

I have a couple of favourites, one is from St. Andrews, the other from the Masters.

I have several- depends on which course and mood

Prefer to use combos 1 large, 1 small- that I like to use near someones line or on short putts.
Main pair would be a 1952 silver quarter and a penny. The perfect round. Or a set of 1941's.
On links style courses, I use a double side marker from Portrush and a 1928 3d.

I use a Kennedy half dollar, heads for normal marking and tails if I moved my coin out of someones line.

A quarter or a dime. Never can keep up with anything else. I do like the poker chip markers, and if other guys use them they don't bother me, but I probably would lose one after a couple of rounds. So, just coins for me.

I use an Irish 50p coin I picked up a few years ago on a trip to Ireland. They aren't available any longer since Ireland went to the Euro.

Either a quarter, penny, or ball marker from my local club. I've trues using the same marker everyday, but usually lose it by the third round..

Please use something flat. These 1/4" tall poker chips I'm going to have to ask you to move if it's anywhere near my line. Same thing with a silver dollar or anything else thicker than a dime or a penny. You aren't impressing anyone with how big and thick your...marker is and a flat marker serves the purpose just fine. Any bit of junk like that standing proud enough to stop a ball dead in its tracks is silly.

I use a large ball marker that says, "bombs away" on it from Kevin Colbert on puttertalk. Also, on occasion near someones line I use my Ping marker on the the divot tool that I have.

+1. I've always thought that the poker chip style markers kinda defeat the purpose of marking your ball in the first place. May as well just leave the ball there, because the poker chips have as big or a bigger footprint than the ball does!

I have a Pebble Beach ... 2 in 1 combo marker. About size of a silver dollar with an internal smaller one if you are near someones line. Really like having both options.

You speak the truth. What's even worse is when they try to push them down, leaving a nice indentation on the green. Please just stop with the huge markers, why? A silver dollar, really?
Someone at my course has a custom one that they keep tapping into the surface of the green leaving craters, I haven't caught them yet. It's some kind of custom coin and all I can make out are the words "Monkey House."
