The Hibore 5 wood is so good that I pulled a FT Hybrid 17 degree. The 5 wood is easier hit off of the deck , longer and straighter. I didn't ever see a 5 wood in my bag again.

The 3 wood is only very slightly harder to hit than the 5 wood. It is close to automatic. The Ping TEC was always the most forgiving 3 wood that I had owned. Because of their large size, they were a little less than optimal from real tight lies or rough. The Hibore 3 wood is as forgiving as the TEC but much better from tight lies or rough. Cleveland has the best fairway out right now. In addition, you can get it with a premium shaft at no upcharge. My Callaway X 4 wood with Prolaunch is a fine wood. The X has to be as good as anything Callaway has produced. THe HiBore 3 wood is easier to hit than that 4 wood!

2nd, i did exactly the same thing.

I don't play the Tour version, but the Adams Redline LP is an excellent 3W. I have the draw bias with Graffaloy Prolaunch Blue shaft. It's very confidence inspiring at address, sets up like a hybrid. I played today and used it on 2 shortish par-4's. Hit 2 nice draws, the best two drives of the day.

One thing with the Adams, you pretty much have to tee the ball the same as you would for an iron. I've found that the CG is very low, like a cavity-back iron. Tee the ball up even slightly more that for an iron, and shots tend to balloon.

Off the deck - nothing beats an Adams.

Try a hiBore FW. I was shocked.

I tried them and didn't like the look. Just felt horrible. More taste then performance. Different strokes for diffeerent folks.

No, don't put them in your mouth, hit golf balls with them...

Curious, did one "taste great," and the other "less filling." :cheesy: :D

If you are using a 904 then you should really look at the 906. I just got one and it is much easier to hit off the deck than the 904. I found that I can "bottom out" the flat sole 904, but do not have that problem with the 906. The new sole also makes it much easier to open or close the club face at address and be able to work the ball.

I was worried I would hear this...I'm in the process of reshafting my xtours with TC's, my driver, and 585h...now, I may have to purchase a new 3w...I figured I would like the 906...I'll try it out tomorrow and see what I think...

The funny thing is I find no problem hitting my 3w off the deck, so this could get interestin...and even better?

personally i love my 906 off the deck off a tee whatever. Hit a par four with it today. That being said the hole was only 260, but it was uphill all carry. I mean I love this, Im turning into osme titleist nut over here. My new 585,now fairways etc. But I love the 906F2 three wood and five wood. Great off a tee and off the deck. Personally Im a fan of the V2, kicks it a little higher IMO, but maybe thats just me.

I agree with Claus' recommendations, with the exception of the 906F2. Ironic, since that's my gamer. However, you said that you have a 904F and want something that launches a bit higher. I also have a 904F and find that the 906F2 launches lower, not higher, than the 904F. Other than that, thought, it is a better club.

My favorite 3wd, other than Titleist and Sonartec, is the original R7 TP. which is a Titanium face. It is slightly higher launching than the V-Steel, another great fwy wood, and slightly longer and higher-launching. Haven't tried the latest releases the R7 Steel and R7 Ti TP. But the R7 TP is great off the deck and tee.

I have hit the HiBore, and you couldn't pry my 16* Adams RPM Tour Prototype out of my cold dead hands. Money from the fairway and very good from the tee too.

Might as well join in the parade - the 16* Adams RPM Tour Prototype is easy and consistent off the deck for me in the NV75 - and long and straight off the tee - just tee it low.

the shafts kind of a factor as well for launch, not just the club

yes, a 906 with a comp nt 65 (for more speed/height), purple ice, accuflex fh, hell even a prolaunch might be a good combo...actually, the only reason I would like a higher 904 is for the flubbed drives or when I'm going for a par 5 to stop on a green...I actually like a lower ball flight 80% of the time...I went out with the 904 again and found it didn't launch much lower than others I were playing with (with much higher HCP's).

Another vote for Adams. Got my Redline RPM at Nevada Bob's for $99. It's a bullet.

i dunno im not swinging that hard, 95-105 range and im floating it pretty high up there and im not known for a high ball flight with my v2

Although a low handicap player one of my weaknesses has always been hitting solid, high 3 woods. Here is a list of my 3 woods over the last two years:

Cleveland Launcher, Titleist 904, Nike T40, Launcher Comp, Ping G5, Adams LP proto, Nike SQ, every Cally out there, and all shaft combo's imaginable. I realize working on ball position and beating balls on the range would have solved my problem but I really never had confidence in any of the 3 woods listed above.

My dream tool has landed in my bag- HIBORE!!!! Didn't want to like it for a variety of reasons. Head size, color, funky design, etc... Hit it and all those things won't matter. Maybe not the longest but it is straight and high everytime. ProLaunch fits nice with this club and there is no upcharge.

Tried a 906 today...and I was impressed. I will defintely need to work on a shaft combo though. The only R flex they had was the Titleist shaft, but the head felt great. The V2 and NV were too stiff. My 3w SS is about 91-93 (Driver 95-100) with a medium tempo/medium loader, so I benefit from a softer feel and kick. Funny though, I hit more mid draws then ever before with the 904, even with the stiff shafts...opposite of the "bias" difference between the 904 and 906....

I'm going to try a hibore this weekend at a cleveland demo days...But, for now, I think I might pick up a 906...I was hitting it closer toward the heel than I would like, but my 904 is cut down 3/4 inch for control and I hit the center often (it been my go to club for accuracy). I"m going to give the adams another try as well.

But that damn Titleist feel and look...

I used to be very good with my MacGregor Tommy Armour 945W 3 wood on the tee and off the deck. Of course I was also playing a Titleist Tour Balata as well. :D

I upgraded to a Titleist PT 15 (original version) and currently use this 3 wood. I find this 3 wood very easy to hit off the tee and almost as easy to hit off the deck. I have no desire to switch to another 3 wood.

Best of luck in searching for a great 3 wood.
