The ones that fit you.

Personally, I like Miura because their heads rarely change and the heads are built exactly to spec. You have no itch to buy something new from them ... because there isn't anything new. You buy an iron once every 7 years if you buy it right the first time.

MIURA, MIURA, MIURA!!!!

HAVE PLAYED THEM ALL AND NOTHING COMES CLOSE...

What Miura forged Ironmodel is the most forgiving?
The PP-9003 Passing Point Irons are the most forgiving.

I played the CB-501's and really liked them but their older model CB-301 are perfect FOR ME.

Miura by far is the best and softest/solid feeling iron out there. IMO.

IMHO Onoff 247 CBs. Miura forged and similar to 202s but for me much easier to hit especially the long irons. I carry the 3 iron and have no problem hitting it. Very hard to find though.

i have used a lot of forged irons sets since i started playing golf in 1958 but the only ones that really stands out for pure buttery feel are the tourstage z101s...

i am counting only the pure and all-metal forged irons and not including those with the vibration dampening features that many of the newer forged irons have like the adams CB2s i currently use as almost all of those really have a good feel too..

the only reason i got rid of my z101s is i prefer slightly larger heads and the z101s were more compact in size.....

.........i still have my tourstageV7000s as back-up but the z101s had a softer feel..

What about Wishon golf 560mc irons?
Let me preface this I firmly believe Wishon makes an excellent product that rivals Titleist, Callaway, Taylormade etc BUT Miura is on the next level. I have several Wishon clubs and they are great but hit the Miura and you realize you hit something special.

Two weeks ago I was at an exotic car show, the owner of a Bentley Continental GT let me jump inside to check out the interior. I have been in many luxury cars in my life but you clearly saw/felt the difference. Products can look/feel/smell/taste amazing but there will always be something a touch better.

"What is the best?" That begs the question, "For whom?"

In the USA, the "market" is convinced that forged blades are for good players. Consequently, every forged iron offered to the American market is essentially the same thing. I'm thinking size, sole grind, offset, shaft. They're all made to get the Club Champion to switch to (BRAND X) next year.

Not so in Japan. When you look at Japanese domestic market iron designs, you find a lot of very good models that are very large in size. In Japan, high handicap players want forged irons. Is that just because they have "traditional values?"

I think that the undiscovered sweet spot in the Japanese forged iron market is the "game improvement" category. In the USA, no single digit handicapper worth his spikes would even demo a "game improvement" model. That's a mistake that reveals a lot about American golfer tunnel vision.

Mark my words, good players will soon discover "forgiving forgings". If forgings were really easy to hit, the "posers" wouldn't have to go straight to their cars. They could join us for drinks and laughs.

Add one more fact.

In Japan, the highest honor goes to the lightest shaft. Who is thinking about playing their Miura irons weighted eight grams heavy, mounted on Aerotech 70 gram shafts, internally counterbalanced.

You don't have to wonder if it works. You can "see" the results in radar tracings from the Flightscope or Trackman.

I'm looking for a little flame back for this recommendation. I'm saying plus 9 gram heads, 70 gram graphite, counterweights - for a "good player".

Or, as the Gypsy used to say "whatever works".

+1....i have been following this thinking as i got older..

i was fortunate to get a mint set of all original tourstage V7000s 2 years ago with tour design TDi-60H R flex graphite shafts weighing 64 grams..

the clubs performed superbly--for me--and when i got a set Adams CB2s recently i had them reshafted with Adams grafalloy prolaunch-hl blue R flex graphite shafts weighing 72 grams..

both sets had the exact same mass weight per club all throughtout the 5-GW and i can now interchange them anytime without any problem as the feel of both sets is identical...

i also have (3) sub-300gram drivers which i can interchange without any problem....

i am 65 and my driver ss is 95mph and am a believer in ultralite drivers and lightweight iron shafts..

i can still get 240-250 yds with my drivers and my normal 150 yd club is a 6-iron--swinging easily..

This is a fun topic, but one that has no correct answer. High price and how exotic a club is often taints the reviewer. Also, feel is so subjective. Some people may prefer the springy but still 'fairly soft for a cast club" feel of the S56, or a springy-forged feel of something like an MP-58 or A12. Some may prefer a very damp, solid feeling forged club, like an MP-33, MP-32, X-Prototype, Epon, or Yururi. I have owned, and still own a number of the aforementioned clubs, and really like all of them.

Forged clubs all feel different depending on the head design, forging technique and steel. Sole grind/turf interaction also comes into play because that impacts how solid your contact is.

I will get fried because this is the JDM forum, and I still need lots more time with my MB2's are before my opinion is fixed, but preliminarily my MB2's have my vote for best feeling forged club TO ME. Notice I did not say "softest".

I think Endo has the best/most advanced forgings.

I have at one time played each of the following and I have them in order of my preference

Titleist VG3's, easiest to hit most forgiving forged irons I have hit
Kyoei Vega Zestaim CB's...very hard to find. Seen some lately heads only for a boatload. Super Soft Very forgiving.
TM Firesole Forged made by Miura
On OFF 247's more of a players but still plenty forgiving
MR23 US SPEC from Tourstage. The god father of players CB's
Miura 501's top notch
Miura 301's CB. not as good as the 501's

My opinion..
