Mid-Size Putter Grips

Who makes the best one?

Obviously this is subjective to your preferences - but I'm curious to know what you mid-sizers and swangin'.

I've previously used a WINN mid-size that had a soft feel, but wore out in a season.
I currently have a custom shop Midsize black/gold on my del mar and I love it.


my fastback is at LaMont's right now - and I've yet to pick a grip I want to put on it...(I'd love another Scotty grip, but they're too damn expensive)

I'm always looking for a new grip... Mid-Size, soft feel, something a little tacky (leather or synthetic, or rubber)... any suggestions? Any and all are welcome!

Just got an ionic midsize, pretty much fits the bill for all the characteristics you're looking for

Sounds like you like the feel of the Winn style grips. They are so cheap you should just go with that and replace them as they get worn.

I prefer a rubber grip with cord, but they seem to be going the way of the dodo, unless you want to pay $21 for a Scotty. Can you even buy the Ping Anser grip at retail?

I've tried SOOOOO many midsize and jumbo putter grips and I have to say that my favorite of them all so far is the SuperStroke Slim Lite. Put one on my Scotty NP2 and it felt incredible.......have not even considered re-gripping since.

saw a Ping Anser milled grip on eBay the other day, can't remember the exact price but it seemed reasonable.

I love the Super Stroke ultra slim on my #9. It might be a little smaller than what your looking for but they do feel good!

I'm [i]very[/i] happy with the Iomic Absolute (Midsize). It's somewhat smaller than a Winn Midsize, but lighter in weight and seems to provide better feel for distance control. As always, YMMV.

I really like the Lamkin 3Gen Midsize grip. The material is unbelievable and it the perfect size for my hands. It feels midsize rather than iomic midsize, which feels like standard.

The best mid-sized grip on the market is the Iomic "over-sized."

Saw a Ping Answer milled cord grip at Golf Headquarters yesterday. I was picking up an oversized grip so didn't check the price, but they feel like velvet.

Star Wrap Putter Grip.

Big at the top to make it feel mid-size, tapers to very small at the bottom. Really brings your dominant hand (bottom) into play while the top gives you that feeling of stability you get from a mid-size.

Not squishy, but not rock hard either. Wears great because it's rubber. Price is definitely right. Not the most flashy or fashionable grip out there, but it's the first thing that goes on all my putters before I go out to the course.

Iomic midsize like a lime green... best grip I ever played even though it was like 20 bucks. Although with how much I have spent on putters a $20 grip shouldnt be a surprise lol.

I still don't understand why people love these so much. I've tried them and can't say that they are any better than the lamkin 3gens that I have used. Yes they are nice grips, but for that amount of money...I'll take a few of the lamkins.

Anyway, my vote is for the lamkin 3gen midsize or any of the winn midsize (I like the TL)

There are 2 that are awsome: first Iomic midsize in the Absolute with the grainy feel and more rounded edges or just their regular style midsize. Second would be the midsize Gripmaster Cabretta Leather, much different feel but an awsome grip that just fits in your hand and you feel every nuance of the ball meeting the face.

Iomics you can get for around $20.00 and will last for many years not just one season like the Winn's. The gripmaster are about $50.00 so if you don't change putters on a whim this might be your nirvana.

Part of the love I have for the iomics is the feel but it's also the fact of their weight, at 65 grams it doesn't change your swingweight as compared the the stock grip. I personally hate a light feeling head and love the heavier feel for a smoother stroke. The Lamkins and most Winns are 10 to 20 grams heavier which makes you lose 2 to 4 swingweight points. It may not sound like a big deal but it will completely change the feel of the putter throughout the stroke.

Makes sense. I had thought that Winn made a "lite" version of the TL in midsize, but they don't. Kinda funny that their "jumbo" is 62g, but their midsize is 76g. I have the jumbo on a few putters and it's great, and I guess I never really noticed the sw change on the midsize that I have since I put it on the putter when I got it (heavy head to begin w/).

[size="2"]Also played the Winn AVS Excel Medallist in blue/black 76g - that was nice but very tacky if you like that feel.[/size]
[size="2"]The Iomic "midsize" is just a slightly larger standard grip - not too different from the GP Tour Tradition, which is just as good to me. The "Oversize" at 75g is really their midsize one. [/size]

I have this Black Widow Midsize Signature putter grip. It feels good (and IMO looks good too).

I saw it mentioned in one of the above posts, but will give a second nod to the Super Stroke Ultra Slim. I have one on my gamer and love the feel. It is somewhere between the mid and oversize, but it does not have that "FAT" feel that some of the oversize models have. I feels like it was designed to be the current size, not that it was made as a standard size grip, then blown up to become a mid-size.
My vote is for the Ultra Slim.

I used to only use mid size iomic but used a Gripmaster cabretta leather last year and can't go back to rubber...

I love that grip. Just recently put that on my putter, wow, what a difference.
