"CHAMP SPIKES USED BY WINNER OF 2011 PGA AND EUROPEAN TOUR MONEY TITLES

(MARLBOROUGH, MA) – CHAMP/MacNeill Engineering Worldwide – The World Leader in Sport Cleat Technology® and maker of innovative CHAMP spikes, high-performance golf tees and accessories – confirms the winner of the 2011 PGA and European Tour money titles relied on its renowned spikes throughout the season.

Having previously wrapped up the U.S. honor, the world's No. 1 ranked player secured The Race to Dubai crown this weekend by finishing in the top three at the Dubai World Championship, contested this past weekend at Jumeirah Golf Estates in the United Arab Emirates. In doing so, he became the first person in history to top the money list on both tours. This continued the trend of the world's best golfers relying on CHAMP spikes, which have been used by 27 of the last 33 major winners.

"Winning both money titles is an incredible feat, requiring stellar play throughout the year and complete trust in one's equipment," says Harris MacNeill, President and CEO of CHAMP/MacNeill Engineering Worldwide. "With CHAMP spikes this player guaranteed himself unmatched traction, stability and comfort."

The #1 Brand on Tour®, CHAMP's wide range of technically-advanced products also includes the acclaimed ScorpionSTINGER and new Zarma® cleat with patented cushion technology. Beyond the cleat category, the company recently launched the Zarma FLYtee. Drawing from MacNeill Engineering's unrivalled 80-year heritage of industry-changing solutions, the FLYtee has quickly become one of the most-used tees on Tour. Made with durable, environmentally-friendly materials, its six-pronged head and shallow cup reduces friction, increases distance and improves accuracy.

With more than 100 active distributors, CHAMP is the world's largest manufacturer of replaceable spikes. The company produces more than 140 million cleats annually and is the dominant global brand in football, soccer, golf, baseball, cricket, rugby and other sports.

The world's largest manufacturer of replacement cleats specific to various sports, the company has produced several industry-changing systems under the CHAMP brand and become the #1 choice of Tour golfers. Along with its signature Zarma® and ScorpionSTINGER™ cleats, the high-performance Zarma FLYtee™ was introduced in early 2011. With distribution in more than 100 countries, CHAMP/MacNeill is headquartered in Marlborough, MA, with offices in Europe and Asia."

I don't work for Champs but thought this might be of interest for those members who want to know every little piece of equipment Luke uses.

Interesting that we get questions & requests from the GolfWRX.com members all the time about what equipment/apparel Tour players are using/wearing. We give an official report on one piece of equipment that the World #1 player is using and that deserves the comments posted above?

I was actually trying to figure out what the Grandma comment was about with my post.

I know of this company and had a friend who worked in their marketing (but not anymore). It was great info.

Still trying to figure out what Grammie has to do with this

Comments might be different if this were about some (((other player)))?

run of the mill driver with stock shaft
a couple of outdated hybrids
shovel-ier shovels
wedges from same shovel company
some putter with a dead insert and
a hideous grip

Apologies for my post then but its just that the opening post came across like it was someone trying to advertise the product rather than trying to create a discussion, and as you know by now they dont really come across favourably here.
Anyho, IMHO a decent set of spikes can be fairly important in wet weather like Britain and Ireland although i think when you are mainly playing in warm weather climates they have very little influence on your game and even now you see pros like Freddy Couples wearing spikeless shoes so it kind of diminishes their importance.

Same here Greg. It looks like nothing more than an advertisement instead of an informational post. Sorry.

Although metal/ceramic spikes were abolished years ago, the golf courses spikes cleaning brushes have not changed a bit (don't even know if they can). I've since adopted the Champs Stinger vs Softspikes Black Widow TOUR (they clog up solid).

I'm now looking at the one piece ChampScorpion. I will surely be trying those out next year. Thanks for the heads up.
