New Oil Satin finish for the Mills Co.

Guys,

here are some comparison pictures of an experimental Oil Satin finish we are trying out. Let me know what you think of it. I put a black ox Fleetwood next to a Fleetwood with the new Oil Satin finish.

I like the oil finish, but what is the difference going to be in the BO and the OC? Is the OC finish done on a Carbon head?

 

Looks great though Jay. Any plans on doing this on the other models....say...the professional one?

yes, it can really only be done on carbon heads. I will be doing several models to see how they look. It is something that may be brought to market in the next few months.

Would they mill a head out of 100% billet Copper block? I'm looking into the possibilities but would want an experienced professional to take it on.

it is as durable as the black oxide, if not better. right now the price is only about a $50 up charge.

I just gripped it with a gripmaster tourlaced tan grip. It really isn't tan, it is more the color of a cigar. it sets it off nicely.

can a current carbon model be refinfished in the OC finish? It looks great by the way. I assume the up keep is similar to the BO. Im going to have to start knocking over banks to keep up with all the new candy.

I have done a few pieces, that is all. I believe this finish to be very durable, at least as durable as the black oxide. I won't be offering this as an option until I am sure it will hold up. I have every indication that it will, but I want to make sure.

the only ones I have experimented with are Fleetwoods, because that is all I had left and there aren't but 3 of them. The other two should be finished shortly.
