You guys have some great Masters beer lineups. In no particular order Clown Shoes SpaceCake Lemondrop, NEBCO Sea Hag and 668, Flagship Captains Daughter, KBS(going to try and hold off though haha), and hopefully a new shipment of Lawsons Sip of Sunshine will be in before the tournament ends!

What a trip. Have fun! Nothing off hand for trades but that doesn't mean much. I know Ashville has a great beer scene but I just don't know much about it. Keep me posted.

Haha yea Beckley is pretty worthless for most anything. Hopefully you have some good golf lined up.

Asheville is a blossoming beer area. Tons of great stuff there. Definitely hit Wicked Weed while you are there. Also like Hi Wire, Burial, Twin Leaf, and Green Man can have some good stuff from time to time. Highlands Brewing is solid too. The Thirsty Monk is a tavern in Asheville. They don't brew their own beer but will have tons of good stuff on tap. Asheville has a great good scene too. Tupelo Honey Cafe and Early Girl are great brunch spots and the Red Stag Grill is a great dinner location. Asheville is a great place but there are Hippies every where so be prepared.

This will be my 3rd time visiting Asheville. I love Green man, Wicked Weed, and Thirsty Monk, but I'll have to try the others this time around. I also like bruising ales. Its a little store but has a good beer selection.

Do you have any course recommendations? I should be able to quit working early on Sunday to maybe play nine holes then catch the end of the masters.

Wicked Weed has a 100point (Draft Mag) bret beer. Solid now, but I have 2 bottles I'm shelving for some time. I can see this thing growing and aging very well for 10 years or so!!!! Ashville also had the Sierra Nevada joint open up. I believe they are doing some site-specific offerings, only available in the east. And if you go to Bruisin Ales, just ask them what's good and local. Those guys are sharp, helpful beer geeks!

I'm not sure where you play at home but judging by the quality of your upcoming trip it's probably not the local muni . If your course has some name recognition I would have them call Biltmore Forest for you. Hands down the best place in Asheville. They are selective with who they allow to come out guest-wise which I why I think your course has to have a pedigree. If that doesn't work, I would try Asheville Country Club next. Great Donald Ross course and always in good shape. There is also Grove Park Golf Club which is at the Grove Park Inn. Never played it but know plenty who have and it's a nice place.

I over did it a little bit this week...good thing the BIL is coming this weekend to trade (pick up the beer if the wife is asking). Getting some BCBCS, more BBPT5, Bells Saturn and 8x Backwoods bastxxx. I think some other stuff as well, we'll see.

I also grabbed a Tart of Darkness for myself this week. Can't wait to try that one.

So to watch the Masters tonight I passed up a tapping of Parabola and Avery's Uncle Jacob 14% barrel aged stout.

Nice little score tonight, a bit dissapointed I could only by one KBS, however my regular bottle shop pulled out the big ABV guns with the two Avery's (yes they are both 16.9% plus lol) They will be doing a KBS event for members so I should have no problem getting at least one more KBS and hopefully a 4 pack.

Wow 28 amazing how much more limited it is out here. It sold out in most spots in a couple hours and that was with bottle limits.


Cracked open that Nebraska Brewing Black Betty Bourbon aged stout and it is really good not KBS or BCBS good but very easy drinking with a nice hint of bourbon. Somewhat reasonably priced for a big aged stout 750ml bomber at around $15

I have normally been an IPA/DIPA and barleywine guy but this winter I have been really enjoying stouts especially barrel aged stouts
