RTJ - Silver Lakes vs Cambrian Ridge

Pros and cons of each course

Hey guys,


I'm planning my spring golf trip (end of April) and need to decide between these two courses. We're doing the 36 holes/3 day RTJ package for $350 and we know the first 2 days will be on Capitol Hill (my favorite) and Oxmoore Valley (10 minute drive from where we're staying in Birmingham).

I've never played Silver Lakes. I've played Cambrian Ridge a couple of years ago but I really don't remember much of it. I think Cambrian Ridge is like a 2 hour drive while Silver Lakes is only about 90 minutes but drive aside - which one would you guys recommend we use to fill our schedule?

If you want a challenge, Silver Lakes is the place!! Great course that features severe elevation changes and constantly undulating greens. Bring your camera!

Note: Silver Lakes suffered MAJOR tornado damage last year, so the course may not be as scenic anymore. Still a great track either way.

I haven't played Silver Lake, but I like Cambrian Ridge a lot. I'm surprised you can't remember it. Here's a link to photos that may refresh your memory:
