Scratch Golf Tour Custom Iron and Wedge Picture Thread

Customers ask me frequently for pictures of Tour Custom Department clubs to help give them an idea of some of the things we can do as far as different finishes, stampings and cosmetic details.

 

I figure starting a thread here would be a good reference for people to come check out and see what we've been working on. I plan on updating it with new pics fairly often as well.

 

If you're a Scratch Golf customer and like what we've made for you, I welcome you to add to this thread with pics of your sticks.

Patrick, on the black heads are those a hot black ox application or black chrome?

A couple wedges that were shipped out yesterday!. the black oxide looks a little shiney as the head hasnt soaked up all of the oil just yet - much thanks to Patrick and the guys at scratch for working with me on the grinds, stamping, and colors. Top notch experience for sure.

 

i cant take credit for the stamping, i got the idea from iadahl's wedges.

The pics shown are all black oxide.

We have some new black PVD finishes I will get some pics of up shortly as well. With the PVD we can apply it to the raw material or do a nickel underplating and then PVD over the top of it for additional durability.

How does the PVD stand up against the black ox over time? Also hot or cold applied black ox?

The oxide we use is a hot application.

So far PVD seems to be a bit more durable. We've tried a lot of things over the years to find a more durable black finish; Parkerizing, Boron (Black) Nickel, Black Chrome and the PVD seems to hold up the best.

I have a set of Custom DW SB1 blades on order - 15*, 20*, 25*, 30*, 35*, 40*, 45*, and 50* on order. I will be happy to post (or Patrick can) once they are done.

I have another set being made as we speak 3-PW SB1- No offset, square toes. Satin chrome finish, no crazy stampings, actually having the § logo welded over and replacing with the smaller § stamp, Tiff blue paintfill as always

Then a 53 and 58 wedge with a lot of CRAZY stampings which I think will turn out awesome.

 

 

I will say the experience is awesome each order I think I had at least 150 emails between Patrick and I. Top notch guy.

Those irons are still my favorite of all time. If I hit the lottery, I will copy the living crap out of you (sorry, but consider it a compliment) and make that exact set. First, I love the lamkin PP with 3 gen grips, second love the blk/ni shafts, third, the color choice on the stamping is top notch. I'm a UNC fan and my favorite colors are carolina blue. Congrats love those so much! Just can't afford them.

They are just called "split CB's". Available only in left hand (I can't say that to much). Similar to Titleist CB's, Nike split's, etc. Thinner topline, but longer blade length. Really forgiving actually.

placed my order for a 1018 DS wedge on Dec 8th and still waiting, almost 6 weeks now. Not impressed with customer service at all.

yes - their customer service person responded to my emails and pushed the date back twice, each time in 7-10 day increments. This post got Patrick's attention and he solved immediately and now it will be shipping tomorrow. He is the man to deal with if any questions or issues, his attention was much appreciated. Delays happen in all businesses, he made no excuses, just solved the problem quickly and professionally.
