Lake City, FL?

May be moving there

Had a job interview in Lake City today, and wondered if there are any WRX'ers from there or the surrounding area. I stopped in to visit Quail Heights and the Country Club of Lake City and like what I saw at the Country Club quite a bit more. Any insight on good places to live and play there, Gainsville, or West Jax would be greatly appreciated.:clapping:

I'm in Gainesville. Lake City CC is a good layout & is now owned by the folks that also own Quail Heights. Really nice family and they have done some good things at Lake City CC. I'm sorry that I don't know a whole lot about living in Lake City and Gainesville is a solid 30 minute drive. There is a town called Alachua that is inbetween Gainesville and Lake City, but it is much closer to Gainesville. I know some people that work in Lake City and they commute every day from Gainesville.

Get in touch with me if you make the move, we have a great group that travels every Sunday out of Gainesville. We play Lake City CC quite a bit, as well as a bunch of nice courses in the Gainesville/Ocala area. It's a Gross Skins game, plus any other bets that you might want.

I can also get you in touch with the owner at Lake City CC, he'll be able to give you a good idea of what life is like in Lake City as he's been there his whole life, just about.

Thanks for the reply, Jeff. We may end up looking for a home in Gainesville as I've been told the staff of the facility is divided pretty equally between living in Lake City, G-ville, and the west side of JAX. Sunday is tough for me as that's the day for church and family, but I'm sure we could find another time to get out playing. Expecting to hear back from the company any day, so we'll see.
