Nike VR Pro vs VR Tour

Any opinions?
I have the VR Pro, but can't justify the price of the LE version right now and have an opportunity to buy an almost brand new VR Tour driver at 9.5 w/PX 6.5. Right now I am hitting the PX in 6.0 and would like a stiffer shaft and I am just curious if the feel of the VR Tour head is like the VR Pro or VR Pro LE...

Let me know soon!

The new LE is 1 degree open face and the VR Tour is 2 degree open face. The LE is a more forgiving driver than the Tour, but for the money, you cannot go wrong with the tour,if its a good deal. The shafts imo are better in the tour. You get a real deal Project x ,and the LE,has a made for diamana. I say go with the tour.

I have hit the FT Tour and I think that was 2* open and I didn't have a problem with it.

I hear the head on the VR Tour is nice.

You will be hard pressed to find a vr tour with a 2* open face believe me I have had 5 of them now...currently have 2 and only one of those 5 had a SLIGHTLY open face. They have all been almost exactly neutral. It is an awesome driver and much better than the vr pro in my opinion.

I had the VR Tour and really liked it but the VR Pro Limited is a better machine. Better numbers, more forgiveness and I like the head shape a bit more as they made some subtle changes. I love the vr pro ltd 3 wood.

Thanks for te replies guys.

I went ahead and bought it for 130. I'm goin to sell my VR Pro if its better which I have a feeling it will be. I was catching the VR Pro in the center almost everytime, maybe 2/15 on the heel or center heel. I can't wait to get this driver.

I'm currently gaming the VR Tour driver and just got the new Ltd. Edition 3-wood to replace my SQ II. I am loving the new 3 wood and if the driver is anything similar it'll be a great one. The Tour driver as another posted said doesn't have a face that appears very open despite the specs. The head has a compact look front to back and is the best I've found if you like to work the ball although it's not a huge winner in forgiveness against other 420-460cc size drivers. I don't know that it's necessarily the longest in a straight line but it's more controllable if that's your game. I like to work the ball and will gladly sacrifice 5-10 yards for control and that's what I feel I do with the VR Tour.

I'm currently trying out the AD DI 7s in it now. As the weather warms up and the courses dry up a bit here I anticipate getting back to my normal distances of 270-290 where as I'm fairly confident I'd be getting another 10 yards with some other sticks if I was looking for pure distance. The feel on center-strikes is outstanding although the feedback is such that you'll know when you've mis-hit it.

I have the VR Tour and have noticed that (at least mine) has an open face...and I wouldn't be surprised if it was 2°. I'm considering setting it to neutral when I swap for a stiffer shaft this year. The aesthetics of the head totally sold me! It is that classic pear shape that breeds confidence on tight shots. Another thing that's great (well not for my ball striking) is that the few times I've skied it, it hasn't left a mark or a smudge or anything.....that Nike Oven must be hot....but I still think I'll tee it up lower just to be safe. :D

LOL...you know, you're absolutely right about that! Mine looks brand new after at least a solid year's worth of playing time. Nobody's going to completely avoid those occasional mis-haps! ;)

How are you going to set it to neutral? The vr tour is not adjustable...I assume you are talking about the vr pro or the vr str8fit

I hit my bosses SQ Tour 8.5 with the NV 85 X shaft in it today and it was really nice, hopefully I can get similar trajectory and spin with the PX 6.5 in my 8.5 VR Tour. My misses weren't tailing off to the right like they did with my VR Pro I used to have and it had the stock PX 6.0 which I felt was a little too soft and caused my misses to be terrible but when I swung like I wanted to with the SQ, the ball seemed like it carried a lot more and went forever, nice bombs with it.

Any insight to the 6.5 shaft compared to any other X flex shaft or SQ Tour vs VR Tour?

Yeah I guess I can't set it to neutral eh! haha... I am talking about the VR Tour....I just had a brain fart, thinking they could just rotate the hosel in relation to the shaft, but I guess that would screw up the lie angle. :russian_roulette:
