Egg Spoon Questions........

So if I could get a used Egg Spoon 3 wood in great shape for $375, is that a good deal or too much?

i really wanted to try the i+ but after talking with tario at tsg the m43 shaft just wont work for my swing. i could buy a new shaft but that would drastically increase the price. looks like ill be going with a royal collection trc instead.

The TRC UT is very good too! I have the 20*. They also just announced the 505V at the Japan Golf Fair.

according to tario the m43 shaft is made for those who have ~95mph driver swings and unfortunately prgr has no other shaft offering above the 95mph level. my driver swing is about 103

It might be awhile before you get any feedback. It's not even yet on their website. There was just a teaser photo from the JGF coverage on GTI & I don't think that RC had a hitting bay at the show for them to try it out.

That said, you can't go wrong with the TRC. It won Japan's Utility of the Year last year.

I might move my 15 degree with kai'li. I've been reduced to 9 holes every 3 months so I decided to move from the blues to white tees. Just can't find a hole to use it from the fairway and like my driver too much from the tee box.

What shaft did you have in it before? Which OEM shaft? What do you notice different about it now? What's the weight of your kai'li?

Why so little play? I am in the cold northeast and have 8 9 hole rounds in already this year. Injured? Sorry to hear your great gear is only getting out once every three months. That is like dating a supermodel, but you always stay in so nobody knows...

Steveo you're giving me tee time envy. Our first child due in March. Between baby prep and work hard to justify sneaking out on Sarurday morning.

If I can play a bit more often then I hope to move back to blue tees where longer shots with the egg make sense. Last round was driver-mid irons. Fw and hybrid never left the bag.

Bringing this thread back fromn a 4-year hiatus.

 

Just picked up an Egg HD with the M46 and the 3i+ with M43. (Like many here, I'm a club whore.)

 

My initial thoughts are:

 

I thought the Ping G (with Fuji 7.3TS X) was going to out-perform the Egg HD because it's a newer club/technology/etc. Not the case. Now I have a dilemma on my hands. I'm also curious as to what the Egg HD might feel like with the $$$ shafts (P9003, Crazy FW 80) or even just the Kai'li.

 

The 3i+ is a strange beast - the sound was the first thing that caught my attention. Feels a little upright and hooded/closed to me, but I will continue to play with it. If anyone is still gaming this club, what shafts have you tried in it and what clubs has it fended off in order to stay in your bag?

I have a HD and originally had a GD GT shaft in it. It performed very well, but was a bit to spinny and the flight was too high. This past winter I had it reshafted with a P9003 and it indeed flies lower and with less spin, but even with a 110mph club head speed with my driver, I am finding it a bit less consistent. It still goes great, but a little low and right if I don't put a good swing on it. I think the perfect shaft would be a Tour AD GP 7x, but for sure the Egg HD head is a winner.

 

Right now it's not in the bag, but I would have no hesitation to bag it in windier conditions. I think the HD needs a low flight shaft to counteract the low cg it has. The Crazy 80 fw might be a good option, but so would the 757. Let us know what you go with and how it plays!

i have the 2015 Egg 15 degree and it has a bangvoo787 in it......i am thinking of swapping that over with a Crazy FW 80 though
