hello

I don't know exactly what is in this strange "canon box photography" but for sure a very expensive Hi-Res camera (I could hear the very high motor speed)

Photographers don't need credentials for the practice days (very difficult to obtain on the PGA Tour, for the competition days, but sometimes they agree...)

if you want to watch a beautiful "hole by hole" of East Lake, dont miss this link :

Very nice pics man. Thanks for sharing them with us. =)

WOW, I must have been standing right next to you half the day because most of those pictures I had to been next to you. You must have a big lens to get that quality from where you must have been standing for some of them.

Well not _so_ big, 200mm as it says underneath several pictures. And my guess is that there has been used two or three lenses (at least) 70-200mm/f2.8 and some wide angle zoom beginning with 16mm I think. Not so familiar with Canon lenses. =)

Man that Boite Canon camera is the mother-of-all-cameras! And that guy prob had a EOS 1D slung around his shoulder too..... to all yu golf equipment junkies, the equipment here is the equivalent to your tour issued clubs!!!

Patrick, great pics... esp with the 200mm shots, very steady hands there, or were you using a monopod, L lenses too?

Patrick

I was asking because a few of those shots look 'inside the ropes' and they weren't letting me through anything.

I was shooting with a 80-400 VR and some of your "closeups" with the 200 look closer than my 400, that's why I thought you might need certain credentials.

Thanks again!

Yes, he had quite the setup, I was walking near him for a little bit and was drooling quite a bit. The only thing "retail" about his setup was the speedlight. He showed me a few of his shots from the 1D, and what a difference being upclose makes!! I was shooting with an 80-400 and he was getting the same shots, much clearer with at 120 that I was getting at 400.

I would to see the faces on people if I created that set up on my driving range............

Been there, done simUlar to that....I used a cut off shaft like Vijay and a dowel rod for the down the line aspect. Lastly a water bottle instead of an umbrella.

Their faces were pretty straight until I hit my hand on the shaft coming down, hit the dowel rod and water bottle and exploded water everywhere :) after I hit the ball.

HiBore + Vijay = WHERE'S THE HATERS NOW?!

Look real closely... that's the new HiBore prototype. Scoring lines are visibly different, as are the sole contours. And he was testing it (or at least one, since it looked like he was trying about six of them:) with the new whiteboard Diamana. Interesting...

Just curious, did you give permission to "the other site" to use your pics and watermark them at their convenience?

Yes I have gived the permission at the other site for watermak and posting some bags pics. (I win the bags pics challenge this week) :)

Sometimes I see one or two of my pics posted on a forum or website without my permission, but not often.

Generally, fans intersted about some pics in low or high resolution ask me by mail before and i give the permission.

that's the better way...

:)

The "blimpy" camera box is most often used to shoot in theatres, where you need to be as silent as possible.

In sports, even in golf, I don't think it's a good issue.

the camera sound is softer, but the player is visually disturbed by this strange box pointing at him.

players kows very well the traditional reflex cameras with big lenses, but not at all these curious instruments. That could attract theit attention and so perturb their concentration.

And with that, everybody is looking at you, not any discretion at all.

Vijay was hitting the new Hi-bore prototype, with various shafts,

the umbrella was posted here to force an outside-in plan, cutting the line, to work fade shots with long irons, very useful on hard greens in East Lake.

I was on the course from 7.30 AM till 6 PM, i never seen him stop working...

just these greats smiles I capted when Benji answer "ouah ouah ouah !" at the question : "how many grand slam victories for Vijay ?"
