Club Maker in Atlanta Area

need to switch 910 shafts

Does anyone know of a reliable club maker in the Atlanta area who can remove the 910 tip from one shaft and put in on a new shaft without damaging the shaft or tip? The new shaft may need to be trimmed to play 45". Thanks in advance.

There's a few. Clay at the kennesaw PGA Superstore can when he's in the club repair shop, but they've had him on the floor in training for management training lately. If Mark is there he should be able to also, he used to work on a few different tour vans. Or you could DIY it. It's not difficult if you take your time.

Thanks, I am very cautious about having work to done at SS. The new shaft is going need to be trimmed so it is out of my league. Thanks again for your reply.

Malachi golf in cumming ga. He was voted into the top 100 club builders in the US by a poll with the USGA. But don't take my word for it, go talk to him yourself bc the guy who owns the shop does all the work and I drive 55 miles just bc I won't let anyone else touch my clubs.

This is interesting as a close buddy lives near there who would really benefit with some good advice on driver shafts. Any idea what Malachi charge for a driver fitting session and how wide the range is to try, as for instance the UST VTS line is something you have to try the whole range in to get right

I believe you can demo the UST line but I know they have just about every offering from Matrix, Fuji, MR and a whole lot more.
The man who owns it is a golf genius!! And since it's owned by him you get treated like a friend instead of a customer.

Besides shafts he is a Mizuno carrier and can fit you for any club/set that Mizuno makes

But he does exellent work on all types of clubs, he personally fit me into my r11 with xcon 6 and fit a used set of pings to my specs

Not close to Atlanta but you could contact Ken at Victory Custom Golf in SC. He would have it turned around and shipped back very quickly.

The best club fitter in the area and maybe top 10 in the U.S. is Matt at The Golf Doctor in [size="2"]Woodstock, GA. [/size][size="2"]It's not too far from Atlanta. [/size][size="2"]It's located in the Cherokee Golf Center. Matt has received numerous awards and is on the top 100 list. [/size]

You have to ask for Matt. Matt is one of the best in the business! I've been in this business for a long time. I'm a professional club fitter and know the business quite well!

Go see Matt at The Golf Doctor. Ask for him specifically! Won't you need someone to fit you for the new shaft? In most cases club fitters are club builders. I do both and have been doing it for more than 10 years.

Another option is buy a new 910 shaft tip. You can get them from Golfworks. You'll have to at least buy the special ferrule anyway. It's not difficult to remove the tip with a shaft puller but the ferrule will be roached.

Again, one that knows what they're doing can save the ferrule to, and it's not hard. Put some water in a coffee cup and stick it in the microwave for 45 seconds. Submerge the tip in that for 1.5 minutes and slide it up then pull like normal. Once the adapter is off, the ferrule slides right off.

Check out Dynamix Golf in Marietta, new place just opened by Larry Nelson and his son....they are awesome and I would lean towards a guy that knows equipment from playing for a living. Larry is know on tour as a club junkie =)

Yeah but not in the club shop anymore. The new guy is really good too. I think he used to be involved in Merit Golf back in the 90's. He definitely knows what he is doing.

Clay is still there, and while he's not in the club shop, I always find him and get him to bend clubs for me because the other 3 guys that have been in the shop lately have all 3 marred up hosels on iron sets.
