Help me decide

Cant buy this particular putter wherever. For example in Hawaii where I currently live or in El Paso, TX where I am moving to. Thats the dilema. But your right, there are more Edel fitters than there are US open venues ( that I can actually play on)

Play the course, just make sure you play the right one... The South Course.

Then take the $200 you didn't spend on an Edel putter and get fit into another putter.

I've played the North Course (walk on resident of SD) and never got around to playing the South Course, as I didn't have any buddies who golfed... it was fun and a great experience.

There will always be a time to buy another putter.

Definitely playing the South course if I choose that option, but thanks for the heads up. I feel like I know the course already from having watched it on TV and playing it on the TW video game

I think the real question here is whether or not you pay full full expedite and overnight shipping to make sure you get the putter in time for your trip to Torrey Pines.

Having played with you, I think its in your head more then anything. You putt pretty well IMHO. I would play T.P.s and save the extra money for a down the road purchase/fitting and purchase of a new putter. Also just because your fitted for it doesn't mean it will sink more putts for you. What if you get this putter and have a couple rounds of bad putting then your really F-ed Up. Look at me, I got fitted for a driver shaft but hit less fairways, it has really messed with my head. I will always remember the times and courses I play with fiiends. Just typing in the open, but want every club have to be replaced sometime down the road.

I can only speak for myself but if a chance to play a course I'd always wanted to play was coming up next week, I'd be so excited about that my interest in new putters or new anything would be zero. OTOH, if I had a new putter coming next week I'd still jump at the chance to play a famous and interesting course. For me playing thinking about or buying golf equipment is something to do in between the times you can actually play golf, not instead of.

I have decided to play Torrey Pines! Thanks for the input guys. I am putting fairly decently right now. No 3-putts in four rounds (averaging 29.7 putts per round over the last four) so I will be holding off on the putter and playing Torrey. Cant wait! Thanks for all of the input, it really helped to put things into perspective for me. Still very intrigued with the Edel putters (especially their fitting system) but I am pretty sure my putting is going well enough right now to thouroughly enjoy playing one of my bucket list courses. Thanks again y'all!

Oh believe me, I am excited and I am far from a club ho. I dont buy clubs to collect them (already have a guitar habit and dont need another) I only start looking at new clubs when it is obvious my game needs some help. I was concerned about playing poorly at a course that I would spend a lot of money to play. I remember the first time I played Luana Hills here on Oahu while playing very poorly and it really affected my spirits and I didnt enjoy myself even though I was in good company on a lovely course. I just cant enjoy myself if I am hacking it up or three putting 5 times a round. I know thats shallow but the older I get the more I understand myself and ocasionally look to others for some outside perspective. So thanks again to you and all of the others who posted here.
