Yururi Wedges

Curious to those of you experienced in the area how you feel about Yururi wedges? Right now I am looking at the Tour and the Seida Rupas and want to know if you have experiences with either. I'd love to hear opinions about the pros/cons of your experiences.

Yururi raw wedges > Miura wedges.

I am dinging up my Miuras wedges so that I can justify the Yururis. They are that good.
That's a pretty ringing endorsement. I am just looking for something new and I found they have a lot of good-looking tear-shaped wedges that are known for their spin. I am hoping that the Tour's will provide the right amount of bounce for my fairly over-the-top, digger swing and give me a nice "one-hop" performance.

I am thinking of some yururi wedges for next year. Any opinions on the keigekiku, chili or gekku? I was thinking maybe the keigekiku in a 60 (looks like a nice versatile sole grind) and the chili for a sw. (could get the 57-18 bent to 56-17. I dig a lot and primarily use my 56 as my club to lay up to so that high bounce really helps) What do we think about these wedges? I'm not as well versed in JDM gear but have decided I want to try some

I have just bought a Yururi Km-0107 Wedge based on looks and reviews. Hoping it's all it's cracked up to be
Just the wedge from the Iron set or matching wedge?

What loft?

I have the Tours, non conforming. They'll stop the ball.

I would consider them Players Wedges. The good wedge players can make these
things sing from any lie.

And stop the ball.

the geku raw are prob................ as close to the most spin u can get from any wedge.
ive tried a fair few........
the tours area bit longer thru the blade and softer to hit
they are one hop stop

the chilli-seida are more tear dropped .not quite as verstaile as the tours i found.
bit more bounce great out of bunkers!
they get some good purchase on the pill for sure.
but the geko or toursbit more variety

nothing will spin more thats for sure..

owari !

Anyone who is a Digger/Driver have experience with the Gekku wedges? I am interested, but curious how they work with the turf.

Many thanks for any info.

if you have an overly steep angle of attack you might be reimbursing the course for damage to underground irrigation pipes!

I have the 49 and 57 Gekkus bent to 50 and 57. I absolutely love them around the greens and from the sand, touch shots, etc. they've completely changed my game for the better in that regard. Within 50 yards they've helped improve my game immensely in a short time.

But they are extremely sharp on the leading edge and definitely will dig an irrigation pond if you're a big digger. I haven't used them a lot for full shots on the course yet due to winter setting in.

It might be worth having one even as a digger though just for touch shots and whatnot because they're incredibly easy to use in my opinion and the spin is second to none.

I'll second all of the above. I have a couple of the Gekku Raw's, and I've never seen a wedge put so much bite and spin on a ball. They're definitely diggers -- very sharp leading edge. And like all Yururi stuff, they're absolute beauties design-wise. They are non-conforming though, so I mostly like to play around with them. Fun to see a ball spin even on a fast artificial putting surface... <g>

For me, I have tried the Seidas and the Raw black blades and wedges... they do bite and tear the cover off balls but pay heed to previous comments about the tendency to dig given their very sharp leading edge. If you play on anything other than dry links and have a less than 99.99% consistent swing, I think you may end of re-landscaping each course you play LOL. What I really did not like about them however is that they are overly hard in feel for me. I dont like peon soft in wedges but the Yururis are close to the other extreme for me. Miura wedges feel wise sit somewhere in the middle.

Really preferred the Gekku raw to the tours. Gekku raw spins more than anything I've played and honestly the first time I hit them on the course I thought I had missed the ball, they were that soft.

Okay, so the debate here is now Gekku or everything else. I want to put a stop to this argument.

The question is: do you want spin, or do you want more spin? If you can't get enough of that backspin now, a well compressed Gekku wedge shot will do more damage to that ball than most Vokey's will in 10 well struck shots, and will spin that ball so far back you will need to reconsider your short game.

The next question is: how do they feel? I have hit the Gekkus and others, and will categorize them into 3 buckets. Gekku, competing forged JDM, and not worth my opinion and need others to chime in. Read: other competing forged JDM includes Miura, Epon, Vega, Mizuno, Honma, Maruman, Yonex.

From my previous post: Gekkus are, in my not-so-humble opinion, the best wedge you can buy.

TL;DR: For $120 (+20 for shaft and grip) + shipping, I dare anyone of you to try this wedge and come back and tell me you do not have a new perspective in life.

I also did a quick comparison/review between the Gekku and the Tour conforming Yururis here. I still love my Tour. Couldn't ask for a better wedge.

I'm a d/d player with a steep angle of attack. I preferred the muted leading edge of the Tour wedge to the gekku raw. The gekku was awesome, just a little sharp in terms of leaving excessive divots.

Agree. Very sharp leading edge. If you like seeing what lays beneath a fairway, this is your club... <g> But, man, it's fun to hit. And a beauty to look at.

Can you get the leading edge ground down to make it less of a digger wedge?
