Bushnell Pro 1M Slope E12 Error

rangefinder stopped working and all i see is E12 when i depress the trigger....does anybody know what this error message means ?

Called customer service and then the technical repair dept.......Bushnell Pro 1M is a piece of crap and will absolutely break down on you !!!! .......go buy one and then send it back in and wait 6 weeks to see what is wrong.....oh and make sure you pay for shipping as well as return shipping......WHy or why did i buy this ????? i dont even think i can dump this into the compost or recycle bin and electronics are not allowed in the garbage bin !

Take it back to place you purchased it. All Bushnell units have 2 year warranty, they will replace it for you. Electronics fail sometimes...

Bushnells seem to fail more than others. I have a very expensive [url="http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/512001-unhappy-with-bushnell-v2-customer-service/page__p__3616639__hl__+bushnell#entry3616639"]Tour V2 paperweight [/url]with an E31 error as well as a Bushnell Yardage Pro GPS on the verge of its second fail.

I bought a Bushnell Pro1-M off of eBay (I know, I know...). Besides a sticking top button the unit worked great for about three weeks then got the E12 error. Because I bought it on eBay I had to send it back to Bushnell. $20 (insured shipping to the returns center) + a $10 check to Bushnell to cover the return shipping. About 6 weeks later I get a brand new unit. At first I was upset that I had to pay about $30 to get it repaired but was happy to get a new unit.

Well... guess what.... About 2 months after getting the NEW unit from Bushnell I get the E12 error and the unit is dead again! I thought maybe the first time around I was rough with it or something and caused it to do the E12 by letting it ride in the front of my golf cart. This time around I BABIED the unit - never leaving it out of its case and I NEVER DROPPED IT!

Now I have to send it back to Bushnell again and pay ANOTHER $30!! I will call and talk to Bushnell customer service and if they can't do anything about this I will just get another unit - dump it on eBay - and buy a Leupold or Sky Caddie. This is CRAP!

For what it's worth my unit was the regular non-Slope unit.

Alright - Bushnell customer service at least stepped up and is being really good about this. They are sending me a shipping label so I don't have to pay for shipping either way. On top of that once they see the tracking updated with my unit headed their way they will place the order for a new one to be sent directly to me without waiting for my unit to arrive so hopefully I should have a THIRD unit (second replacement) in about 2-3 weeks.

So if this happens to you - just call their 800 customer service number and tell them what happened. They should take care of you in a similar fashion. I asked if there was anything I could do to reset the E12 message and the agent told me no.

Even with the great customer service I'm not sure I will keep it. Might look for something else.

I had the same E12 error on my Pro 1M also. Mine was the slope edition. Also bought mine off eBay and sent it back to Bushnell. The CS rep I talked to on the phone was really friendly and said if I mailed it back, they would ship me a new one and pay for the shipping back to me. Not sure how long it will take and hope this doesn't become a regular problem.

I used to have bird dogs and used Tri Tronic e-collars. Had a collar mess up one time and they shipped me a new one before I sent the defective one back.They told me to ship the defective one back in the box I just recieved the new unit in. ($500 unit) Very rare customer service!

Just got my my replacement 1M. It took 15 days from the time I put it in the mail for Bushnell to get it to me and they did not charge me to ship it to my house. I'm impressed with how quick they shipped it. I just hope this one is more dependable than the first one!
When I was putting the battery in the new one, I remembered something the CS rep told me on the phone. She had told me to take the battery out before I shipped it and keep it as a spare.......I forgot to do it!

What makes it "good news" that Bushnell will be announcing new models next year? Like every company, they announce new models from time to time. Hardly an exciting revelation.

The response quoted from Bushnell simply says to forget about the Pro 1M, which is discontinued. Which I thought was obvious some months ago. Next year's models may or may not have something similar but given that the Pro 1M was the only rangefinder on the market with its form factor (horizontal) and superb, bright, clear, long eye-relief optical path it seems a long shot to hope they'll be announcing anything other than additional teeny-tiny vertical units with dinky optics.

I'm excited because they may be releasing a Pro 1M style rangefinder with jolt technology. That is what I have been waiting for. I hope they deliver it!

My Pro 1 M Did The E12 Code On The Replacement They Sent Me. I Calle CS last Night And Got A Run Around About A Bunch Of Stuff I Needed To Do. Take Pictures Of Unit, Find My Emails From BushelL Etc.
Called Back Tonight And Got A Great Rep PWho Got It Going. They Are GoingTo Replace It With A V3 And Give Me A $200 Card To The Golf Warehouse. I Was Fine With It! Sorry For The CapS, But My Droud Razr Phone Is Doing It.

Sorry to hear this. Bushnell really needs to pull these from their website/stores, way to many issues with them out there.

Had the same issue with my Pro1M and got the run around for 3 weeks. Bushnell made it clear to me these have been pulled from production due to "persistent electronics failures" in the Pro1M line.

I would strongly advise against anyone buying either of these models this week - no matter what kind of sale they are on.

Just when I'm ready to buy one of these I come back to this thread and get over it pretty quickly. I'm just not in love with my Leupold GX-4i and I'm looking to make a change. Hopefully, Bushnell will correct these issues with the Pro 1M because I really prefer the size of it opposed to the vertical range finders.

I really do think its somewhat - I dont know - dishonest is the closest word I can think of, to keep selling these. They know this was a serious structural/construction/component issue, so serious that they've pulled it from production. But they continue to sell it? Something about that sits funny with me.

I agree in a sense but I'm not sure if I would characterize it as a dishonest business practice. I would be curious to know how many they have sold that are problem free vs. those that have issues. If it's 100 good units to 1 bad unit I don't see why they should stop selling them.

Ordinarily I would agree if they were putting out some sort of fix for the ones that are out there. But they arent because [u]there isnt one[/u]. The E12 error is a dead unit - no fix. They are admitting there were serious electronics issues and they have just removed them from production altogether - not being fixed and not being made anymore. When you send a Pro1M back they will not even send out replacement Pro1Ms anymore.

If a serious enough issue happened in a car that caused, I dont know, the axle to fall off the car - what would they do? They would have a big recall with a particular fix you could get done at the dealer right? And presumably they would fix the problem in production and fix the cars they had in stock. They certainly wouldn't just keep selling they cars they had in stock as-is and say oh well, hope this doesnt happen to you.

And certainly there has not been a public announcement of this by Bushnell. Why? Because hey, please buy the remaining units we have left on the shelf!

Fantastic argument! As it appears, they have not been proactive in trying to find a way to repair these units. It is kind of hard to believe they are still on the Bushnell website and touted as their flagship model.

I know you're frustrated with the product and the run around that you have gotten from customer service, sorry. For me, poor customer service is worse than a bad product.

I have not recieved my replacement yet but did get a letter with the the $200 gift cards to TGW. The enclosed letter stated I would be recieving a Z6 instead of the V3 as the CS rep stated. Can't wait to see.

I'm surprised that the Pro 1M models are still up on their site too. They are not showing up in any of the job catalogs I get though. I bet all of the new flagship models that are suppose to come out next year will feature jolt technology.

Finally got my replacement for my second 1M Slope today. They sent a TourV3 Slope. As stated earlier in the thread they sent a $200 gift card to TGW to offset the 1M being more expensive. I hope I like the smaller unit. I originally bought the 1M because of the 2 handed aiming making it more steady in my thinking.
