Hank Haney Putter in GD?

Sorry to join the discussion so late. Let me confirm that what people are saying here IS NOT HYPE! These putters are amazingly versatile. As others have said "very well thought out". The customizability is through the roof. These are not your fathers putters. If you can't find something you like out of this line up I would be shocked. I cannot wait to see and use one in person.

Seriously, I am humbled and appreciate the kind words and all the support. (Protos are coming to you testers very soon, I promise!)

 

In the mean time, and in the holiday spirit, I thought I would share another sneak photo, for the curious.

 

The picture attached shows some of the hand finishes, including a hand hammered peen finish, which is a custom option (there are several different levels of customization available, including various levels and amounts of peening, polishing, bead blasting, hand satin, etc.).

 

You can also see three different hosels (there are others too).

 

And finally, the Vertical Mill Groove (VMG) face mill pattern for increased friction and dwell time, for optimized roll dynamics and also improved sound and feel.

 

Everything else is pretty traditional, as you can see with these models shown. Photos of the other models and technologies to follow after Christmas.

Those are some VERY nice putters Dave with some incredible attention to the details. I've actually wondered many times why putter manufacturers left the deep mill marks on the horizontal plane, rather than the vertical as you've done with the VMG. I could definitely see myself playing one of these putters under one condition. . . what's the lefty availability going to be? :crazy:

The VMG face is primo! I love how it's not over the entire face of the putter...where the toe face and heel face are left smooth - very cool! Will you have MOI numbers for these, for example, starting out with the blade, with weights, and then the "convertible" parts? Demand will be greater than supply! I'm just curious if you've rec'd any feedback from Hank Haney on your putter?

I gotta say that one really made me smile. It is amazing what we can learn on a Golf site like WRX. I learned that I probably didn't sever a tendon and a new saying to say I found something. What a week!

In that case make sure it is an anser1, I prefer softer edges.

 

Also I seem to like the roundish sole on the BHB8-C better. It makes it easier on the lie angles.

 

Carbon steel as well.

I apologize for the delay in posting another sneak preview... took some time off with the family and the kids' new toys (golf clubs, of course... what else?!) LOL!

 

The following are a range of the new model M1-A Machine Putter prototypes with custom hosels and custom finishes near completion. The putter in the center of the frame is the only one with a bead blast "dew" already applied. The putters are not really this bright, especially when "dewed." (the lights in my garage are great for working, but not as good for photography. we will definitely re-shoot these at our HQ studio with diffused light).

 

All the heads pictured are 303 stainless. Note the different amounts of hand hammered peening, and different locations (including on parts of the hosels). The hosels pictured are, from left to right:

 

303 stainless steel "Standard", "melted" shoulder, antique gun-kote enamel color mix, with polished highlights

 

Copper "Stubby", polished highlights

 

Aluminum Bronze standard, polished highlights

 

303 Stubby

 

303 Standard, melted shoulder, peened back, fade up, polished highlights

 

I am swamped most of the day tomorrow, but will try to get some more pics of other models and lines by tomorrow night, and will try to answer any questions then as well.

 

FYI, the new website, availability, pricing, tech sheets and PR, etc., will be available by the third week of January when we officially launch.

Yes, most are 1018 carbon steel, and several finishes including nickel plate, gunmetal blue and plumb brown, and a few others. Also, Alminum Bronze, which takes beautiful patinas. More tonight... -db2

Being a tinkerer I likes the looks of that there putter.

As promised, attached is a another photo of some more finishes we are offering in the Custom Machine Putters.

 

These pictured here are 303 stainless, with a black gun-kote (baked on enamel), which is then hand polished on the edges, for a "pre-worn" look. Like a worn in pair of jeans. I personally like the highlighted edges, as it really frames the putter and makes the lines "pop" which I think aids in alignment over an all-black putter.

 

Note the center putter has a very light grind, while the putters’ bumpers on the ends, and the stubby hosel are "melted" with a little old fashioned elbow grease... And, since the putters are stainless, they won’t rust where the enamel is removed.

 

And for all those still screaming for carbon steel – I hear you. More pics coming... However, please also understand that the aggressive VMG face mill grooves really make stainless feel (and sound) very soft, due to the decreased surface area at contact with the ball. Still plenty responsive though, due to the click of metal on ball. I am very eager for you guys to roll these, to see (hear and feel) what I mean.

 

More pics and some explanation about the Transformer putters by tomorrow.
