I know we have differing opinions about the efficacy of face grooves, but I'd like to say I'm a firm believer in the concept of weight/MOI adjustability for putters.

 

I was curious about the dimensions (diameter/length) of the weights in your Transformer Series and was wondering if you could provide some information about the range of adjustability (both weight and MOI). Thanks!

OK. now that you nuts have calmed down, here are some more pics as promised.

 

These pictured here are two Transformers, in Aluminum Bronze, with carbon steel mallet backs (semi-permanent version for the minimal tinkerer).

 

The putter on the left has the antique bronze, slightly melted bumpers, pre-worn with stubby hosel (as milled, also antiqued and pre-worn in Al-Br), carbon steel mallet ring, satin gunmetal blue.

 

The putter on the right is Aluminum Bronze scratch satin, medium melted bumpers with standard plumber hosel, slight antique, very light melt on the shoulder, carbon mallet ring in satin plumb brown antique.

 

Both have adjustable dial-a-weight, eight barrell milled Delrin inserts in both heel and toe inboard bores, and empty lower cavities.

 

The third picture shows the original VMG face mill pattern, which is much less aggressive than the new VMG pattern, and is available for those who prefer this version. VMG marks, as well as “db2”, (designed by dave billings), a signature I have been using for, oh, 30 years or so since I have been designing... Damn, I’m feeling my age, so I’m off to bed. I will try to get to any questions or requests by tomorrow.

FYI, the dial-a-weight cartridges accept 1 gram steel pins, or 2 gram tungsten pins. 8 x 2 x 2 = user adjustability up or down 32 grams (including empty barrels), and the ability to fine tune and optimize the CP from heel to toe, and even slight up / down adjustments depending on your hosel set up and your stroke dynamics.

 

The mallet ring is a proprietary CNC robotic bent carbon steel tube, and can be custom ordered according to breadth - (length front to back). Factory weighting in the tube is virtually limitless in terms of total weight and finite weight increments, as well as where the weight is placed, once again depending on stroke mechanics, balance point, CP, etc.

 

I will send some more pictures later with a cutaway of one of the heads so everyone can see the architecture, which I believe is pretty innovative, and very beneficial too.

Just wanted to tag on here that I have a HOG 1003A putter and it's great... but not distinctive enough to break out into the mainstream.

 

It really looks like these Machine putters have what it takes.
