i've had the Arc and let someone buy it from me. now have the learning curve.

i prefer the putting arc. just easier, the curve is metal and a pain to snap in the pieces.

i would say that stan's video is very good and i think it would be great to have with the putting arc....

i will probably sell my curve to get another putting arc again.

Just wondering if there is any real difference between these two?

Thanks.

There's slight difference. They're built around different lie angles, with the Learning Curve built around 68* lie angle, while the Putting Arc's built around a flatter lie (which leads to a slightly more gated stroke).

Stan's a big believer in putting on the shaft plane, while the putting arc is built more around the ellipse idea.

The only part of Stan's Learning curve I use is the plane board side, I never bother attaching the yard stick, and you can see just how closely it matches the shaft plane of the putter.

My biggest fault is getting too much "gate" to my stroke, so both of these products help me cure that when my stroke gets awry.

I'd see if you can give them both a try and see which one fits your stroke the best.

Yes, there is a difference.

If you have a shoulder stroke with an arc, then the Putting Arc is best.

If you use Stan Utley's stroke, have his book and DVD, then get the Learning Curve. It is setup specifically for Stan's system - which is not a shoulder stroke. Stan's stroke is more of a rotation of the forearms -- and he advocates a 35-36 inch putter with 5 deg of loft and 68-69 deg lie angle. And the Learning Curve is set up for this type of stroke.

The typical putter using a shoulder generated gated stroke uses a 71 deg lie angle.

I dont know if any of you guys have seen or herd of the "ARC Glider"....its on the site. I just got it in my stocking and i cant figure it out. It goes with the putting arc and makes your putter square, but you are either supposed to use a rubber band to secure it to the putter or sticky velcro. The rubber band has too much give and it is really hard to get on, and i dont want to put sticky velcro on my gamer. Any ideas, i dont want to designate one putter to the putting arc...

I looked at getting one, but in the end decided not, for the reason you mentioned. The Arch works well enough for me as it is. If you are really serious about using it, go to wally worlld and get a el cheapo putter an then velcro it on. I persnally wouldn't want to do it to one if mine.

I have seen both and i think they are a waste of MONEY! Why spend $30+ on a curved block of plastic?

I am one the best junior (14-18 age) putters in South Florida (avraging 1.4 puts per green) and i just put 2 sticks on the ground and use those to help my stroke. And the stick only cost 2$ at a hardwhare store. I also have a thing that i built that loks just like the putting arc thing. I just bought a piece of wood(5$) and used a electric sander and sanded a little arch in the wood. My advice is done spend the money on a stupid gimic TOOL!

Hmm. I think I would challange you on that. Considering the number of pros that use the item, and you are calling it a gimmick. Guess all the pros are wrong especially Dana Quigley, Raymond Floyd, Mike San Filippo ,Charley Hoffman, Ed Cuff, Stewart Ginn, David Branshaw, and Eric Axley. Think you might recognize some of the names there. All tour players, Winners on tour, and they say their putting is due in large part to the putting arc. Then we have you. Not on Tour, no tour wins, no nothing who says it's a gimmick. I think I'd take their word for it. Just my way of thinking.

The young are so outspoken - they know all.

Golfers will spend money on the Putting Arc because it works. People will buy the Learning Curve bcause it works. They are used for different strokes.

Let's see now young 'un. You spent your valuable time making what you call a "stupid gimic tool?"

Ohhhh, who's stupid now?

What I find funny about this KIDS remarks, is that he is claiming to be better at putting than even the #1 putter on the PGA tour. LOL :drinks:  ;) :) :) ;)

Do you give lessons? :drinks: I think you might have missed a number or two when typing.

Sorry bout my typos im just a kid! But i am one of the best putters in south florida.

I have tryed this putting things and they work well. However when i look at the price tag i donbt think its worth it, im just as good a putter using a board or stick. If you want to spend money on something you can just go out and make for much less money go ahead. But people like me, who's family barly has enough money to aford my golf carear, can just make one. I mean How come Tiger Woods isnt using this thing? And hes the best cluch putter of all time ( my opinion).

Golfkid,

There is an edit button. Please use it to correct your spelling. When a post is filled with so many typos it is hard to take anything you say seriously.

There is also a handy spell check button when you are composing your reply if you go to the full composition screen.

Also, Firefox has a built in spell checker that has saved me a couple of times.

Spelling and grammar may not seem like a big deal, but as sfdoddsy has said, they are reflections of your thoughts and abilities which lends credence to your words.

Hate to break your heart GolfKid but even Tiger found himself taking the putter too far inside earlier in the year when he was having problems.

If he would have owned the putting arc OR just gone to the Home Depot and made one like you;

I'm sure he could have putt just as well as you and won that Masters.

putting arc works, if you are using a region behind the spine as the hinge

Learning curve works , if you are using the elbow shaft plane.

Actually , after learning quite a bit about putting, It boils down to a simple conclusion, Arc putting is just about doing a straight in straight out , symetrical , pendulum stroke on an inclined plane. for putting arc, they use a more steeper plane than learning curve. Thats all.

whisper secret " you can use a piece of long plane (clear plastic is better because you will see face relationship better and incline them at 78*(putting arc) and 68* ( learning curve) and putt along that plane .. its the equivalent of putting arc. The key of these equipments is to help your learn how to hinge and rock the hinge. No need to spend 80 dollars :fool:
