Frank, put me down (as long as we don't have to putt those shag rugs at Dubs again!).  And, try to stay for all 18 this time.

LOL You got it Joel!!!!! We will play a solid private track that will have good greens. Dubs was inconsisent and slow. It was an unpleasant surprise.

I played #2 there on Saturday, and the greens were very slow, I was surprised do to the golf club that it is. I was a bit disappointed.

Keep me updated. I can attend as long as my schedule permits or if it isn't too far away.

I've met many very nice guys that frequent this board.

We could probably throw this party at a course like Crystal Tree in Orland Park. The course is awesome and is always in great condition and the greens are fast, not like Cog!!To do it at Olympia with a big turn out would require board approval and could be difficult but not impossible. Crystal would cost 100 with cart. Very affordable and Nickc445 would tell you a beautiful track. Well worth the drive.

What would be the preferred spot? Michigan, Chicago, Wisconsin. Someone start a poll about locations where everyone is coming from and choice of destination.

JHR, I can get us on a private track in the Chicago area. That would be the easiest spot to control the outing for me. Other ideas?

I have no preferences, I was thinking you have 4 courses in Kohler, with the Whistling Straits, and Black Wolf Run.

Michigan has the TreeTops, but not close to an airport.

I am just throwing ideas, we have enough time, we can do whatever we want.

Nice picks!!!!!!!! I have no problem with those picks. What is the costs??

I don't know, I am not trying to talk anyone into going anywhere. I like Chicago as well. I just think if it is going to happen anywhere, there is alot to do. We would need a headcount, confirmation from those interested, a location, what is everyones budgets if any?

I am not trying to be the front guy on this, I will assist, and can get my assistant to make arrangements and that sort of stuff. If i need to take the lead I can do that as well. We will be trying to coordinate people from all walks and locations, i would just want to make sure it is done right.

I looked at Whistling packages, they are quite pricey, I am not terribly concerned with costs but I know some are. Frank , I would think any decent course is going to be around $100 a player ( don't want to count out any woman that might be interested) hotel will be $75-$100 a night, would you want a multiday outing? Let everyone make their own arrangements other then golf?

Sorry, I just know that this could be a very large undertaking.

Frank, I looked at that Crystal Tree on line, looks nice, do you belong there? Do they do outings there? What are the green fees?

No Im a member at Prestwick. Ive got several buddies who are members there. Our course has a great relationship with the course. I wont have a problem there.

Count me in gentlemen..where ever it winds up in Wi or Il I'm close..just a thought is that the Kohler courses are $$$ and would create budget issues for some. Add a ton of cash if you're staying at the resort. Something in the $100 rather than the $300 range would be more to my liking. Although for a chance to play the Straits with the guys from this board I'd not have a problem.

One thing to consider is travel, for those who aren't within driving distance but would like to join in on the fun. Personally I think Chicago area is by far the best for travelers as it's the easiest to fly into, just about anywhere in the US can get a cheap airfare to Chicago. And there's plenty of stuff for the non-golfers (i.e. my wife) to do.

I'd definitely be interested in making the trip from Baltimore for an outing. My wife and I like to take 2-3 "long weekends" a year, with enough lead time I'm sure I can talk her into going back to Chicago :clapping:

There are alot of great resorts in the Midwest.  I think it should be centerely located so more can take advantage and priced right.  I guess i'm not so concerned about the quality of a "great" course as much as I would enjoy the comradire of the group.

Agreed. Lets see who is interested and where they are located to find the most convienent location. The Chicago area worked well for the BSg outing. Oddly enought the course didnt work well.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
