In Orlando Next Month... Better Course?

Have a poll.... Celebration or Waldorf Astoria.... Which one would you rather play?

Havent played Astoria but Celebration is tight and compact (holes beside each other)....If winter golf swing is in effect, it might be a frustrating round. Had a friend who played Astoria and loved it.

Catch is when are you playing Astoria? It gets seriously expensive (read overpriced) in the winter. It's very very nice, but not worth the money in the winter. Up to $185 depending upon when you play.

If price isn't an object then Astoria is clearly head and shoulders better than Celebration. i've played both a number of times. But the Waldorf is pricey.

Not sure of the price on Waldorf in the winter, but it is night and day better then Celebration. Both times I have played Waldorf it was booked through tee times usa. They get great rates and often can combine with other deals. I know recently they had a deal for 2 rounds- 1 each at the Ritz and 1 at Waldorf for a great price.

Both courses are okay for Florida resort style golf. I think Waldorf is a Rees Jones design and Celebration is a RTJ Sr and Junior. I prefer Waldorf but not by a lot. I agree with other posters in that where to play depends on the deal you can get on green fees. You can often get Waldorf around $100 or less even in peak season for afternoon tee times.

Played Waldorf a couple years ago and thought it was outstanding. Pricey but deals may be available. Never played Celebration.

If you want to drive to Daytona, LPGA International has two superb courses.

There is so much great golf in this region it's ridiculous.

In March I'll be playing a week at Reunion on the Palmer, Watson, Nicklaus courses for the first time.

Mid 80's in Orlando, don't think you'll have MUCH to worry about this "winter"

I've never played Waldorf so I can't judge. I like celebration, would much rather play other courses though.
