She got divorced in 2011 or early in 2012. She also pulled out of a few races late in 2012, citing "mental exhaustion".
Ski racers create a lot of news around here. She does especially, because she lives in Austria for extended periods of time, and she is considered very attractive by the media who cover skiing. Like most very succesful female professional skiers she has the reputation of being "diifficult" at times, I guess it comes with being a superstar but having to be in a team at the same time, because you could not create the practice facilities on your own.
However, all the private stories about the more attractive and more successful female skiers always include being in ever changing relationships with either a coach or a ski service technician. If the stories you can read around here are true, this also includes that, with time, everybody has been with everybody sooner or later, like in some TV series (think "Private Practice"). It truly is a traveling circus, and I could imagine that getting involved with somebody from the outside can be a relief.
Or, maybe Rory convinced Tiger that being with a tall blonde who is physically stronger than oneself can be a real treat.
