what up folks ... i'm thinking about pickin' up the new redwood and i was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are when comparing the two ... ANSER VS PIPER ...

give me yo opinions ... good or bad ...

We have the Anser in the shop I work at and it's beautiful. But i'm bias, thats my all time favorite putter design.

do we have a length preference from ping ...? maybe a 34" or 33"

ANSER no doubt! The Piper just looks weird to me for some reason...not the mallet shape I like. Anser has a good headweight-340g-and rolls awesome. Looks great at setup. 34" is what I have.

Anser, great classic shape. Best Anser Ping has made in my opinion. Mine is 34"

Has anyone ordered a Redwood in anything other than a Black dot? According to the Ping putter fitting system I should have a 33" Silver dot.

i have a piper 34". I really love it. the weight is really nice also.

I have seen one with an Orange dot, so yes, they can definitely be ordered...

I have ordered one, and it so happens to be an orange dot. as far as looks go they both look great. it all depends what your preferances are, mallet style or blade. i love the blade look. this is my 3rd anser. love them.

i stopped over at the shop last night ... putted with the anser and i'm lovin' it ... although i didn't make the purchase yet ... the guys at the shop told me that he's got a piper coming in and will give me a call once it's here ... i wanna try the piper out to see if i notice that 'huge' headweight difference, and to see if i like the setup at address ... like i said before, i have a yes! tracy and a scameron that are the anser style ... i might just be looking for something different ...

I usually take an orange dot in PING putters, but with the Redwoods, the black dot putters sole flat on the floor for me. I have not hit any other lie angles though.

I would be surprised if you can not easily notice the head difference between the Anser and Piper. I really like mallet putters and the Piper is a heavy one. felt very stable to me.

I just got a redwood Zing at 4 degrees flat which I think is a Gold dot......

I ordered a redwood with a silver dot. The black nickel finish cracked a little on the hosel where they bent it, but it doesn't affect playability. I haven't had a chance to use it outside yet so I can't really comment about performance. But i really like the way it sets up and I putt much better on indoor putting greens - especially inside ten feet.

I have a 33in orange dot and I love it. I like the pipers looks better so I will prob. get one soon.

My dealer called Ping today and they said they would only go as far as 2 degrees of lie adjustment. I was sure that on the Ping website it said up to 4 degrees for the Anser and Zing... Well, lo and behold, I looked today on the site and indeed it's now only 2 degrees. I wonder if they have been having problems with the finish cracking when pushed too far.

I have a gold dot (4* flat) Anser. No cracking or problems. I love this putter - amazing feel, perfect weight and my distance control has been spot on from the moment I picked it up.
