It looks like they tried to replicate the deep milled face that was on his Scotty. To my eye it looks like a bit deeper of a mill in the face.

I was just watching Golf Channel and they were showing stuff from the BMW Championship on the Euro-Tour and I noticed that Rory was using his old Scotty Cameron putter...

I wouldn't say he was getting hot with the Nike putter. What happened (IMO) is that he's gotten better with his irons and that results in him being a bit closer to the hole and making a few more putts. He's always been a streaky player and a VERY streaky putter, so he would make a handful of putts.

I think that he has to make up his mind and stick with something. Tiger did it a few years back and he stuck to it. Now he is seeing the fruits of that suffering. This going back and forth is a HORRIBLE idea, but he is his own manager now, so he doesn't have an outside voice telling him that this is dumb.

There are so many differences in the Scotty and the Method. Yes, they can make an exact mold of his Scotty, but with the poly metal groove technology in the face it makes the ball roll faster. Because of that Rors has to change his feel and stroke to compensate.

I feel for him because he's struggling between the ears. Big time.

I guess it's smart to go back to what he was successful with. He didn't have the PW in the bag with Titleist. He replaced it with a Vokey of the same loft. I don't see it making a huge difference because there isn't a big difference in the blade and the wedge and he's been playing with something different all year. He's just confusing his swing (IMO). We'll see.

 

I actually like that he's back to the Scotty Cameron putter. I take all of this going back to last years setup (in Nike form of course) as him being absolutely downright desperate for some success.

from the looks of the pics these look to be raw with a minimal buff to them. I have Adams MB2 raw heads that I put on a polishing wheel with some compound and got the look of a plated head. Most tour guys that I personally know play raw heads that are buffed to a certain look (i.e. satin, chrome, or raw) as the raw metal offers more spin as it's softer than the plating that they would put on top of the metal for a retail set
