Been there, done that with multiple clubs. Have the black "touchup" sharpie in my bag to prove it.

I did the same thing with my TaylorMade R7 CGB Max 3 Wood years ago, which had that same red finish to it as the Coverts. Pretty disappointing, but that's what you get for a bad shot!

Yeah, Nike's paint is sub-par just like all of their golf equipment! They should be able to go unscathed from a dirty sand-covered range ball drop-kicked off the crown...

I don't tee my ball up high enough to stand a chance of doing that. In fact i always thought the rule of thumb was to tee the ball up so no more than half the ball is above the face, and I stick to that for the very reason that I don't want a big nasty sky mark on top of my new shiny driver!

I wouldn't ever take the headcover off in public again let alone post pics on here!

You would think the manufacturers would paint the clubs better than they do, knowing this is very common. Perhaps a stip of clear tape on the crown is called for. Protect it just like your phone.

I hate on the Titleist clubs the small amount of paint that overlaps on the face that always gets chipped as well.
