How on earth am I seeing this thread for the first time now? Anyways, happy to see my name included, so thanks for that Sheriff. As others have mentioned, there is such a circle jerk and many back handed comments thrown around about how guys here say they hit it far, but really don't - it gets old fast. Most fitting carts, even at demo days, rarely offer what my swing requires. It's nice to have a place where people with a similar profile to myself are be able to discuss what works best for us. I'd also instantly give up yardage for more consistency and/or and improved short game.

I had the stock shaft replaced with a plow-guy tour xxx-stiff steal tube, 1/2 stepped stiff and bent 12* up, mauve dot.

You're really going to throw people off insinuating there is such a thing as a "blade shovel". Surely, that must be the most forgiving blade ever. How could your back possibly hurt after using that??

I'm telling you- go for the blade shovel. When it hits the snow it feels like butter and really is as forgiving as it sounds. My buddy has one and let me try it once after seeing how far he could throw his snow.

DO they make it in a digger grind or is it more of a sweeper to just graze the surface?

Depends on what conditions you're using it in. The deeper the snow, I'd go sweeper and take a little off at a time. If it's not so deep that you want to go for it all in one scoop, then go digger all the way. As always, try before you buy.

I have a multi-material shovel. It was forged in Morder. Even then I still broke the SOB. Ironically...it's a True Temper. :-)
