Most Memorable Golfing Experience

Recommended Posts

I will start with one of mine...

Myself and three other instructors I work with, played Muirfield Village.

Had a great breakfast, got to the course, warmed up at the driving range...

We walked with caddies...

Played 18 holes, I fired a 75, and birdied the 18th, from the right rough, right of the fairway bunkers!

Had a great steak dinner and a few cold ones ;)

That is just one memorable experience that sticks out in my head...

What about yours?

Playing against my dad and needing to birdie the par 5 18th to beat him. Holed an alby from 240 out. Luck, not skill ;) :cheesy:

Playing Caledonia in South Carolina just after 9-11. They replaced all the green flags with American Flags. It was a perfect day and from the 7th green you could look across the water and see the 16th green (?) bordered by stones.

The water was still and threw up a perfect image of the flag, the green and the sky. Simply breathtaking and special.

I shot 70, but would not have cared if I shot 150.

Everytime that foursome gets together we can always remember that hole.

Well my grandma passed away (my dad's mom) and I told my dad that I was dedicating this round to her. My dad came out and watched, I ended up firing a 67 in tournament play (my lowest round ever and I was dropping some incredible putts). It was as if she was helping me a little bit, I like to say. My dad always talks about that round when we chat about golf and says that its one of his highlights in his lifetime. Always a great thing to hear and gets me a little choked up sometimes thinking about it. It’s a time I won't forget that’s for sure!;)

1. showing up all the guys at my club by winning the club championship and beating 2 guys 8&7. Then beating my best friend in the last match by birding 4 of the last 5 holes to win 1 up. And pulling into my sweet parking spot everyday! By the way i was 17.

2. My 4 day trip to Pinehurst. It was amazing. The courses were sweet so was our condo. But the best part was the dinner at the resturant, forgot what its called, but they had the best steak i have ever eaten in my life, and the breakfast was unbelievable as well.

I have been lucky enough to do some pretty cool things on and off the golf course the past couple of years. The big break at Carnoustie and St. Andrews was def a highlight but I would have to say my trip late last summer to Ireland that was featured on golf with style. In a matter of 5 days I got to stay and play at the K Club, County Sligo, Waterville and finally Adare Manor. Also take one of the coolest helicopter rides from northern Ireland to southern Ireland. Here are some personal pics of the trip.

1. Playing the Old Course in the morning, getting married in the afternoon, and then playing the New Course the next morning.

2. Playing the Ocean Course with my buddies, from the tips (7400 yds) with nothing longer than a 3-wood in my bag. I broke my driver the day before.

3. Hopping over the guardrail on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, teeing up a Titleist with my initials and date carved in it, and letting it fly. ;)

Hey TJ! I saw that show last fall! Cool stuff. You played a match over 3 courses right?

Hmmmm...

Tough decisions here.

I will go with this trio:

1. Playing all 8 courses at Pinehurst over 5 days.

2. Caddying for my mother as she won her only club championship (20 years ago)

3. Watching Newman bat it around the Ocean Course at Kiawah from the tips with only a 3 wood!! ;)

Don't worry Newman...you should see the tees they have now - wanna have a go at 8150 with a driver!

Maybe something shoulder mounted. Like a missile launcher. ;)

I was in a club tourney.Playing with the club pro(he is also a club member) I was one stroke behind him standing on the 18th tee.I was planing on hitting a hybrid as the hole was very tight with water reachable on the left.He hit his tee shot left, way left.I said to myself"screw holding on to second,I am gonna win it".So I hit the best drive of the day right down the middle and hit a SW to 3 feet.He missed his par put and I made the birdie for a nice 74...I felt like I won the Masters...

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
