Hogan Apex 1976'ish Possible Refinish

I was fortunate to find a set of Apex irons from around 1976 and I am considering having them refinished. They have Legend 3 shafts currently. How much should I expect to pay to have the heads removed? The heads are pinned. After that I was looking at The Iron Factory for the refinish. Is there anything I should pay close attention to when it comes to refinishing?

Thanks. I emailed The Iron Factory to check the price for removing pinned heads. Have not heard back yet. From what I can tell it is $10 per club for non-pinned heads. Might be the same or more for pinned ones, I don't know.

Yes,10 a head, if you are not going to re pin he will weld pin holes shut also for an additional charge

Many thanks. Merry Christmas everyone. A little down right now. We have spent the past two days in various doctor offices/ER's, etc. trying to get to the bottom of my wife's sudden blurred vision. Very strange. She can't see out of the top half of one eye. Came on literally overnight. Refinishing clubs seems pretty low on the priority list for sure but I enjoy reading everyone's posts.

So sorry to hear the news, praying and thinking positive thoughts for you and the Mrs. Clicked in to see what was the latest on your project, not expecting to find this.

Wow I really appreciate all the positive posts. Makes me feel better knowing you guys are there. Another MRI plus a neurologist yesterday. Still no diagnosis and the whole eye is affected now. May be looking at IV steroids treatment. I just pray that the other eye remains unaffected.

Just wanted to update. Still no reason for the sudden blurred vision. All tests so far are normal. So we are trying to see a neuro ophthalmologist. Only a couple of them here in Phoenix. Hard to get an appointment for the average person.

Yes, sorry. Thanks for asking. The medical industry can be tough to navigate when you have something that requires multiple doctors and communication but that is another story all together. The plan now is to try IV steroids to speed up whatever recovery there is going to be. Otherwise it can take quite a while (12 months) for vision to improve. The diagnosis right now is optic neuritis so that is better than a lot of things it could have been.

My first thought when I read your earlier post was Ocular Melanoma; my wife's sister is going through that right now (she got checked due to vision issues). I'm glad to hear it wasn't that, it's a particularly ugly condition.

Just a final update on my wife's vision. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. She did the IV medicine. Vision is starting to come back. About 25% permanent optic nerve damage. Not sure how that will ultimately affect her vision. Just came out of nowhere. Thanks again to everyone.
