I live over in Torrance but I can play every other Friday and most Saturdays. Prefer EARLY and willing to drive pretty much anywhere for faster rounds!

I'm in OC and usually golf Saturday or Sunday--depends on the wife, but usually it's Sunday. I'm with MarkHeardJr---Prefer to tee it up within an hour or so of dawn. Five-plus hour rounds ain't my scene.

I lived in Rancho Cucamonga for 8 years and am happy to drive to the 909--no disrespect intended....well....not a lot... )

Favorite courses include Oak Quarry, Oak Valley, Goose Creek, Empire Lakes (at least back when General Dynamics owned it), and the PGA SoCal Courses in Beaumont (before the Indians bought them),....

Usually I play here at Costa Mesa CC (cheap and good condition) or Meadowlark (short and kinda dumpy, but close to me). I played Rec Park 18 last weekend for the first time in a long time and they've dumbed it down. Lots of bunkers gone or shallower and smaller and the greens are bigger. All done in the name of pace of play. Apparently giving marshals the authority to make people keep up with the group ahead didn't cost enough.

I've also got a card for Tijeras Creek, but haven't played there much yet this year. The driver, as a friend would say, is heinous. *shudder twitch*

Fighting a kink in my neck right now but we should play sometime. Sundays are best and I am border OC and 909 in Chino Hills. Los serranos, Coyote hills or costa mesa all are fine by me.

Only played the south but Los serranos was really decent for the price.

They are both fun and challenging. I like the North only because it's slightly shorter and the south can play heavily into the wind in the afternoon.

Teeing it up at El Prado / Butterfield Stage this Saturday. No frills course, fairly flat but got the deal on GG for $28 with cart and range balls. If your up for a 5 hour round I got some extra vouchers you can pay me if at the course. Hit me up if anyone wants to go

I am in the Lake Forest/Irvine area and pretty much free to play whenever (when home, of course). Weekdays are easier on the pocketbook and sanity (weekend crowds ... shudder) unless you want to play in the I.E. at one of the courses that drop the price on Sundays. Let me know if anyone is interested and if I am available I will try to make it.

and I just dig through golfnow.

I preferable like to play los serranos, navy destroyer, hidden valley(when it has deals).... anything cheap and that allows me to swing a club haha.

Played Shandin Hills recently, in pretty good condition.

I just played Los Serranos for the first time yesterday. How in the world did I miss playing here growing up in Long Beach?? Played the Jack's Blacks on the South and that is a blast. I need some revenge on 3 holes that destroyed my score (4, 5, and 17)... +7 on those 3 holes vs -2 the rest of the way around.

Maybe after all the rains are gone I will be available to play. That would mean next week as this week (if you believe the weatherman) is supposed to be filled with rainy days.

Not sure what time you played, but in the summer the afternoon breeze makes 4, 5 and 6 even longer, not by a little but by a lot. I think you will like the North course as well, not as long but some real risk reward holes (#12 driveable to a blind green if you are long enough)

A friend is trying to talk me into the drive from the Irvine area out to Morongo on Tuesday to play the Champions course if I remember correctly. Not sure if I am up for an 80 mile drive through the worst weekday traffic highways/towns for a morning round... or if the weather will end all thoughts of even considering it.

As for Los Serranos, it was a noon tee time which made things a little interesting.

I waned to play the skins game last week but 11:30 was too early that day. Will try sometime soon for sure.
