Push carts? 2 wheel vs 3 wheel vs 4 wheel? Pros Cons?

I have an older bag boy push cart. like this. Are these outdated and harder? IS it worth is to upgrade to a 3 or 4 wheel?

Those two wheelers are worse than carrying IMO.

Get at least a 3 wheel PUSH cart, and never look back.

They take extra effort to tilt and push .

Pulling a cart vs Pushing a cart, go for a push cart.

Pushing the cart is less stressful for your spine than pulling it behind you.

3 wheel vs 4 wheel, I would say go for the 3 wheel, it is easier to change direction of the cart for the 3 wheel one than the 4 wheel one when pushing it.

Stability wise, probably the 4 wheel is more stable, but I find the clicgear 3 wheel versions plenty stable for the hilly courses that I use it on.

No question, get an upgrade. I had a cart like the one in your picture, and bought a Clicgear 3.0. Night and day difference.

I have the exact same cart. Mine though came with a hole at bottom that would fit a third wheel that you could order and I did. I have always liked pulling this cart, easy to do. With third wheel it is also easy to push. Just personal preference. I would go to your local shops and try a few of the three/four wheel carts out there, with your bag, and see how they feel.

Clic Gear, none better, IMO.

I have a Sun Mountain Micro cart (4 wheels) and it's been great. Breaks down tiny with 2 folds and 4 wheels to me seems more stable than 3 wheels.

I love my Sun Mountain Micro as well. Folds up real small. Had mine for 4 years now.

I've only owned a two and three wheel cart. I hated the two wheel for sure, but love my clicgear 3.0

Here's a funny story. 3 of us were getting ready to walk 9 holes. I had my Sun Mountain V2 and another guy had a Sun Mountain Microcart. The 3rd guy had an old 2 wheel pull cart. So we load up, hit our 1st shots and head off down the cart path. The 2 of us with push carts were telling the one guy that he needed to move up to a push cart. He says why when he can still push his cart and he spun it around and started pushing it. So the other guys says yeah but our carts have brakes. And he says mine has brakes too and tilted it down so the foot hit the cart path thinking it would stop. And stop it did! He pushed it down so fast that it flipped right on over and sent his clubs flying down the cart path! It emptied his bag of all the clubs. The 2 of us couldn't stop laughing. We picked everything up and made our way on down the path. We kept asking for another demo of those great brakes but no such luck.

I get a laugh when I see those really old school 2 wheel grey pull carts on craigslist and people still want like $50 for them.
