I am using the 1500 now but after using my friends Callaway LR800 I am thinking of changing. The reason why I like the 800 more is the size. My 1500 and my friends 800 were just as easy to use and the yardage was spot on different shots.

The Callaway is made by Nikon. If size is important you may want to take a look at the Nikon 500G. It is even smaller... not much bigger than a pack of smokes.

There has been a lot of discussion about the pinseekers being easier to hold steady for some. It is not an issue for me. They are all highly accurate.

Do a search if you're craving more info as this has been discussed over and over.

I must say I am less than impressed with the lack of specs given on Callaway's web site. I have the Pinseeker 1500 Tournament for two years and it has been flawless.

If you can find the specs on optical magnification and compare the two, be sure to do do. The easier it is to see with the eyepiece, the easier it is to hone in on your target. Also, find out what the optical range of each is to different types of objects. I have yet to be disappointed in the range or the ability of the 1500 to nab a yardage to, well, anything. Callaway should be embarrassed by their pricing (yes, I am saying this without having used it.) :shout: To out-price the market leader at product intro is suicide. Good luck Cally.

I have a Skycaddie and 3 Bushnell laser range finders - After 3 years with skycaddie S2 & subscription, I am letting it lapse the end of this year in favor of enjoying my new Bushnell 1500 Pinseeker Tournament ed; it does everything I need and then some without Internet headaches.

SkyCaddies are great if someone is playing the same tracks all the time and the courses are mapped to my liking. However, I've found times when it didn't provide me with yardages to many lay up spots; so I found myself grabbing my laser each time, leaving me more disappointed with SkyCaddie. Its time consuming due to it's Internet dependency. Even though I have cable modem at home and we're wireless, I don't like depending on happenstance connection or the servers supporting their website. Last week I attempted to visit the site to download a few tracks for our golf trip this week; the site was so slow; I gave up...that's happened to many times. Another problem has been it doesn't sync up properly and I don't like the rechargeable batteries lifecycle of S2 either. As opposed to the consistent 9v and target choice and accuracy I find in my 1500 :shout: In the end, I'd rather spend the subscription $$$ on golf balls, tee's and what not and be outside, vs. hanging out online. For me the 1500 is the overall value winner.
