Paul Runyan - The Short Way To Lower Scoring

It took me a while, but I finally found a copy for a reasonable price at $23. I thought that was a steal given I haven't been able to find a copy >$65. It appears the book has never been opened, as the spine feels new and the pages are all crisp. I have watched quite a few videos and have read some threads with Paul Runyan and his teachings. I am excited to finally have a copy of this text given its out of print.

I have that book. It gives very good insight into how "little poison" played the short game. There are also youtube videos of Runyan that, in conjunction with the book, really give you the info needed to try his short game methods. They are not exactly how many teach the short game today but obviously worked very well for him.

Got it also, but it's in storage downstairs. I have Runyan on the cover, can't make out who is sporting the 'fro on yours, LOL. Probably need to get it out.

This is the hardcover version from 1979. Many say his teachings are timeless. What techniques do you guys like most about his short game teachings?

Amazing book and more Amazing man!! He gave Sam a beating that he took to his grave, lol Madison got to meet him and spend some time with him as her Teacher before Pete was Jimmy Ferree and Jim was a student of Mr. Runyan's. Madison met up with Jim and he introduced her to Mr. Runyon and after lunch they spent about 4 hours together on the line, in the bunkers and around the green. She felt very badly because he was the one that asked to see her swing and then he took her to the short game area and Jim laughed and said that he had some errands to run and he'd see them in a bit. 4 hours later Mr. Runyan had tired her out, lmao. He also taught her how to hit a wicked greenside hybrid and a hybrid bump and run from in front.

I've got both the hard cover and two paper backs, which are the ones that I use. I'd pay $100 no questions asked for a good copy of the hardback and if supply/demand dictated, the paper back also-

If you can learn from a book(some people cannot take what's on a page and bring it to their swing without someone demonstrating or showing them how to swing or the correct body/club positions), this book is priceless with the information and shots that he talks about.

If you're a Player, it's priceless!

Measuring off to the ball by allowing for a slight over reach was the main idea for me. Allows you to be more aggressive and sure of the strike as compared to setting up with bent elbows and a club resting on the ground which will often be quite a way under where good contact would be. I also have his two vhs tapes.
