AD DI vs Kiyoshi Purple

Recommended Posts

Looking to launch the ball higher with my driver and 3 wood yet keep spin numbers down. These shafts are touted as mid/high to high launch and low/mid to low spin.

Anyone have experience between the 2? Or prefer one over the other? Or even a different higher launch and lower spin shaft (mythical as some may claim them to be, just going off what manufacturers claim on their produce)

Thanks!

The best High /Low shaft that I have ever used is the Fubuki K 70 x, I've honestly hit my longest drives with this shaft, I have recently started gaming the Kiyoshi Gold & been killing it & it is probably a better shaft in terms of dispersion.

The Gold seems to get flack for been soft to flex & whippy by some & maybe for the 120+ crowd ??? but for me 112-116, it is an absolute bomber.

I've used both. I had a 7x in the DI and a 75x in the Purple. I currently have a Kiyoshi purple in my driver. For me the DI was easier to launch. Both of them produced fairly low spin numbers, but the driver heads I had were set up for low spin.I prefer the Kiyoshi over the DI because it felt smoother and I knew if I swing a little harder the shaft was still going to feel the same. The DI would occasionally whip on me and go left if I went at it hard. Overall they are both great shafts and it really comes down to feel and swing characteristics.

So true, I swing flat out with my driver, get the setup correct & rip it, so I try & find the shaft that suits that kind of move, that is why we all will need different specs.

I agree that the Fubuki K is a bomber. My longest drives came from that shaft as well, but my misses with it were nearly unplayable. Still long, but it got a little wild for me.

The purple seemed to require better timing for me. I hit my longest drive ever with a 75 04, but my misses were brutal

I have never owned a Purple but have hit it in a friends 913 D2 & I remember it launched higher than any other shaft I had played to that day.

Now that I am gaming a Gold 75x, I can safely say that the Purple launched higher, yes they are different heads & the Purple was 65x as opposed to 75x but it was higher that I know.
