Any early comments on Rogue Pro. Felt great with initial demo, thinking about getting fit compared to my Ping IE which is too upright with lengths too long. Wondering if anyone has them this early and have any compared to Ping.

Compared them to the ping I200 and they look better, feel better and we're about 4mph per iron faster in ballspeed. The only irons that went further were the p790.

    „Too upright and too long“?

You just bought them? Or how can irons be too long and upright?!

Honman, did you try out the whole iron set or just the demo 6/7 they have in stores? The lofts in the Rogue Pro are generally stronger than those of the Pings (except 3 & PW), so that may explain the increase in ball speed. As far as looks and feel go, I’ve never been a fan of the chunky offset look of Ping irons, so I agree with you there.

nilopol, I’ve tried them. I prefer the look of them over Ping. When you hit, it feels like a rocket coming off your club...strong lofts. I, too, am confused about your comment that your current Pings are too long and too upright....did you get a fitting?

Previous static fit was black dot with original standard s56 length, so based on that felt could adjust to blue dot and new standard iE specs. Not ideal I know

Saw them today for the first time. Look great at address. Was kinda shocked. Look better than Apex at address. Long irons look good. Not a huge fan of badging, but I could game them.

I got mine out on the range today and I'm impressed though I'll probably swap the 5 iron out with a hybrid for now. When the weather improves and I'm playing more, the 5 iron may make its way back in the bag. The scoring clubs look and feel great.

Just going through the configurator, it looks like the Rogues (at least the Pros) are more limited in no upcharge shafts than past releases.

Maybe it's because the last couple of releases I only checked out the Apex line -- were the XRs more limited as well?

I'm coming from Ping I25. The Rogue Pros are shaped more like Ap2 though than I25 or I200.

Finally Rick Shiels review is released..

He confirms my thoughts of the pro Iron!

It is a really good iron... it does everything it should..

    -fly long

    -fly high/stop on the green

    -sits good behind the ball

And I can’t wait for my set!

The only thing I don’t understand is why everybody talks about the look?! For me it looks great...

The rogue irons remind me of a car with a crazy bodykit if that makes sense, same with the taylor made M series they seem to have all the tech they can find stuck onto them if that makes sense.

I havent hit them and wouldn't really due to the juiced lofts (My 7 iron is 36deg, the Rogue Pro 8 iron is 35.5deg) altho i liked a lot of the older callaway Pro versions of their irons, i just think they are a bit lost and since the X Forged are so easy to hit i don't know why someone would choose the rogue over them.

BUT - Each to their own and if you like the look of them and they play well for you then fantastic!

Sorry but they don’t look like the M model irons...

And yes the x forged look better but cost nearly 150% of the rogues. As a student price is a factor!

And for me the rogue are much easier to hit compared to the x forged.

Hey don't get me wrong i'm not putting the Rogues down i just think they look over complicated (Thats just my feeling toward them) and i had no idea they were so much cheaper, that's great and makes a big difference; I just assumed they were the going rate which nowadays in general is around the same price per club.

I do think they look ok at address and thats the main thing (when it comes to looks) and if you hit them with the ballflight you want and accurate enough then who can argue with that. I also worry about the unexpected 10-15yard extra distance bombs that these type of clubs create but that's an issue with lots of new juiced irons.

If cost is an issue you should buy last years model every year then you get the best you can for alot less cash, i dont change my clubs alot but i have found some nice stuff this year; Good luck with the new bats!

I'm a low single digit - 54 years young. Coming from forged mizuno MPs these things are really easy to hit, high launch but i can flight them down too with work-ability. Makes me feel 30 again and the look is great when you cant miss them. I don't know how any type player would not mind hitting these. My distance gaps only changed a few yards.

So far I'm very pleased with my Rogue Pros. I wouldn't have paid retail for them, but I wouldn't pay full retail for any irons. I took advantage of the current trade in bonus 50% and thinned my herd of some older clubs.

I disagree on the looks of the X Forged being superior. To me the X Forged of 2018 does not look as good as the 2013 version. I like the Rogue Pro more than this year’s X Forged, which looks fine but no wow factor. The TM 700 series irons and the Wilson C300 has more appeal to my eye than the X Forged. Also the Srixon 745/765, which have a similar but better look IMO.

The Rogue Pro may have strong lofts, but the ball gets up and goes. Saw a guy in my favorite store the other day trading in his PXG’s for the Rogue Pro, said he couldn’t believe how easy they launch and stop. Saw no loss of height despite lofts and he just felt they gave far better results on non-center impacts.
