Golf Pride Tour Velvet Super Tack

As a long time NDMC user I am going to try these out for a season. In case anyone was interested, this grip is STICKY. Even in a midsize it basically just feels like a bunch of athletic tape rubbed with pine tar that has been wrapped around the butt end of the shaft. A VERY direct feeling if you are in to that. I have heard some people claim they get super slick when wet and that is true to a degree. There seems to be a bit of a "saturation point" where tackiness is lost but it literally only takes wiping your hand on your pants and giving a few seconds for the grip to be exposed to air to jump straight back in to pine tar land.

As someone that has used the Pure DTX for a little while I can say it is a similar level of tackiness without the mushy, softer feeling that the DTX has. I loved almost everything about the DTX but just couldn't get along with how much sponge it had, the Super Tack has none of that movement. Also the price is great!

Anyone else gaming these?

Also interested. I used the Tour Wrap 2G which is fantastic unless wet, hot/humid.

I've been using the midsize for about 3 months and have no issues at all in the heat or wet.

I was previously using Pure but found them way too tapered for my liking.

I'm still really enjoying them! The midsize feels a touch smaller than the NDMC Midsize overall but nothing an extra wrap of tape or two couldn't fix. There are noticeable wear spots where my thumbs rest already so i'll be keeping my eye on that, just cosmetic at this point though.

Great grips. The knurled top part keeps my gloveless hands secure on hot summer days. I've never had a problem with them getting slippery when wet. I use these and Star Midsizes. The GP's are a little firmer, and the Stars a little softer and cheaper.

After using these for awhile, I still quite like them. They are a hard grip though, so the wear really well but won't likely satisfy anyone looking for what "Tour Velvet" normally brings to the table. I do prefer the Super Tack midsize to the Tour Velvet midsize though.

Okay. Installed some on my irons about three weeks ago and I am regretting it big time! They super tacky, but hard. If I build them up with some tape, will that create a cushion or just make them bigger?

Tape will only stretch the grip and make it even harder unfortunately.

i used these before - they were great when they were new -- but if you're a range rat or use your clubs often they will wear out very quickly; ie wear marks in traditional wear spots.

I definitely started to get that, just not really as bad as some other grips so I didn't consider it an inherent flaw. I think the design of the grip makes the wear marks look a bit more visible than they actually are. Especially compared to something like the Iomic X-evolution grip which I loved at first, but had literal chunks of rubber coming off after a couple weeks.
