I am interested in the new model 4, but didn’t see any significant changes in the couple of pictures I saw other than new colors and different straps for securing the bag to the cart. Based on past experiences, it would seem there would be more changes involved to bump the model number up from 3.5 to 4...

The evolution seemed to be 3.0 -> 3.5 -> 3.5+, and, then, to 4.0. The change does seem to be minor. I will stick with my 3.5+

Ok so order was canceled. I was told that the "injection molds" for the 4 were not good? They were going to be delayed at least 6 weeks so they pushed release date back to August..... The rep last week had sample carts with him. THe basket is bigger better adjustments on handle, and you can order (for additional $) custom color wheels and bag straps as well. To me not much of an update but I need a new cart so I just got the 3.5. The 4 will retail for $250 up $30 from 3.5... I am sure your local store or proshop has the catalog to look at, that is what I did....

Clicgear is far and away a mess of a company. They've touted several models that never came about. This from a company that makes simplified baby strollers.

I've moved on to Sun Mountain's 4-wheeler, and I can tell you that the quality is much better. The 3.5 I had sits in the garage. I can pop open my SM in half the time, and there's no real chance that I'm going to pinch myself. It also folds smaller, and the sand bottle, one-hand steer knob, and drink thing fits all the same.

The wife still has her 3.5, and you can see the frustration she has when it takes her twice as long... I have a feeling there will be a change soon.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

Great feedback, may have to consider one for my 14 yo. I will say that most of the junior golf tournaments I am around, Clicgear is by far and away the leader in pushcarts but that may change with someone who can come up with a "better mousetrap". I am all about functionality for my junior and always looking...

Don't sleep on Big Maxx carts; to me they're better than Sun Mountain and Clicgear, which I played prior to the Blade.

This seems like a bit of a stretch...maybe the first few times while you're figuring out the process, but after that it literally takes three different buttons and three seconds to fold/unfold.

The SM takes one flap; open and close. And you don't have to hold it on a sliding pipe to turn the handle to lock it open. There's no faffing with the front wheel, either. And I've never had a problem with the way my bag sits, unlike the 3.5 where I had to get a velcro kit and a plastic bump, and it still twisted.

I was able to open the 3.5 quickly as well. As mine wore in, the rigidity lessened. It also caused some flex, and that was part of the fit problem. The bottom of my last two bags would rub the front tyre on hills. This doesn't happen on a 4-wheel model, for either brand. But 3-wheelers shouldn't be a problem; it just turned out to be one for me.

The one thing I do miss is the seat. That was a nice perk.

I agree I tried another car last year and the year before and While they were great at new overtime they either warped or the handles got off center or a tire would be loose although clicked in the although clicgear has its glitches it is one of the most sturdy it's carts I used before and I'm going back to a 3.5 this year for sure. Also while they cost more, they have the best accessories that fit very well on their carts especially the cooler

Aren't those 3.5's in different colorways? Or are they confirmed to be different somehow?

The straps that hold the bag are different, and, maybe a few other changes. There is a thread, where someone ordered one (and has a bit more information- can't find it now), but, due to a production problem, the order was delayed.

There's an easy fix for the problem:

Swing DNA: 91/4/3/6/6
Woods: ST 180 or MP-650 - Irons: MP-H5 / MP-53 / MP-4, KBS Tour S - 50º: MP-T5 / 55º: FG Tour PMP  / 60º: RTX ZipCore - Mizuno Bettinardi BC-4

Tried that. By far the easier fix was a Sun Mountain. ;)

I guess I should be clearer about that... This is precisely what I tried. I found that same video. You'll note at 0:44 that the frame still sags. This sag is what would have to be removed to not touch the bag.

Remember, I've also paid for the plastic insert to raise "tour bags", despite mine being a SM 4.5. Also dragged on my Nike bag. That hinge where the wrench was used has a plastic inner part, and that wears out. If it was a steel inner, they'd last 50 years.

Doesn't the tour bag kit raise the bag to stand in a more upright position making the issue worse? Unless the kit comes with a new base part also. I bought my 3.0 maybe 5 years ago used and I've needed to adjust that bit once and haven't had any issues since.

My friend has the SM Micro Cart and he's always struggling to make his carry bag fit on it so the front wheels wouldn't rub against the pockets (no issues with his staff bag) and he's had some plastic pieces from the cart break needing replacement.

Based on my own experiences and observations, I'd never move from ClicGear to SM.

It does raise it. It solved it for a while, but then that inner part got weak, and when 10kgs of bag & clubs sits on it, it would rub in certain instances. It wasn't all the time; just hills and such. I'm holding on to mine hoping that a differently shaped bag might work... we'll see. I got enough mileage out of it to not be unhappy, but if I *had* to buy a clicgear again, it would definitely be an 8 / 4-wheel version.
