Yep. The Baby T is wider than the Pingman.

In my experience, the Baby Ts get slick quickly, particularly the red ones.

The Pingmans seem to have a rougher, velvety texture and stay tacky for a longer time.

If you like the shape of the Baby T, a Lamkin Crossline paddle is a good alternative that holds up better.

I have developed a thing for the black baby t's. I have them on all of my putters. I personally don't think they get slick. I play in KY in the summer it's sweltering hot with 100% humidity. I do think the grip is somewhat slick fresh out of the package. I wet a cloth and wipe it down hard, then it has a tackier feel and is good to go. It's all about personal preference, I like the tweener size of the baby t and the feel.

you're crazy if you think it makes a difference at all

if you're having issues with your putter grip slipping in your hands, how in the heck are you keeping from throwing your clubs on full shots?

the grip won't make a difference between making or missing putts, just pick the cheaper one or the one you think looks better and move on

At first glance I thought "that'll make a grip slick for sure!!!"

I like the feel of the Baby T, but I like a little bigger grip. I just put a Lamkin Deep Etched something or other on my putter. I had one that was a cord grip and loved it, but I couldn't find one. I settled on this one for like $4. Very durable and sure feeling. The old corded one got better with age, hopefully this one will too!

I wear a glove with my irons not with my putter... but I'm not having issues with the putter slipping anyway. I just want a sure feel, tacky even. When a grip gets wet and slick I'm not comfortable over the ball... no good. I have to be thinking about the putt, not the grip when I'm playing.

The red baby t grips must be made with some different material. They just feel different. I have not had problems with the black ones at all. The red material seems to feel oily or something.

if you're not having issues with it slipping, what issues are you having?

if the club's never slipped in your hands, why would you be worrying about it?

a full swing is a different animal, but putting is a pretty slow and low impact movement

I would bet good money that most of us could putt just as well with a 15 year old cracking grip as a brand new high dollar grip

You are obviously different than me. When my hands sweat and I grip the putter I'm not worried about the putter flying out of my hand, twisting upon impact, anything like that. It just doesn't feel as solid. I don't have that issue with my irons because of the glove, and I don't putt with a glove because I want more feel... I'm not sure how else to explain it. But, if you read some of the other posts here you'll see that I'm not alone.

Dude????

Man, shell out $4 for the Lamkin I posted above. Try to find the corded version. It will stop the slippage...It's cheap as could be and I'm 99.9% sure you will like it.

That's funny you posted that grip, that's what got me started with the black baby t's. I had a newport studio stainless with one of those lamkin grips and loved it, then I sold the putter to a buddy. None of the local golf shops carried the lamkin and the baby t was the closest I could find that they stocked.

This looks like a great grip. Is it similar in size to the Baby T? Also, it's 20g heavier than the Baby T... did you notice the putter head feeling lighter with the heavier grip?

I don't notice any difference and I put several wraps of tape under it....of course I cut the end out of it so I can install a counterweight in the butt of the shaft too...so I may not be the best to judge the weight for ya. Honestly, I had never even considered the weight of the grip. Consider this, my current putter had a Winn AVS grip on it, then I installed this one...same weight, same feel, same stroke.

I guess you'd just have to try it. For the price you can't lose. If you don't like it, just cut it off!

Between the Baby T and Pingman in size is the Golf Pride New Decade (you can get'm in blue or red only)... It's a tad bigger than the Pingman, in my opinion, and performs just as well. They're a great, cheap grip that I have on many of my putters. The Baby T is too close to a midsize; I wish they'd come out with a closer to standard version because they do feel nice.

swapping from baby t to pingman or vice versa can help someone make a higher percentage of their puts? :russian_roulette:

If the golfer has no confidence when holding his putter with the pingman or cameron or vice versa... then absolutely! Why else has Tiger stayed with the Pingman his entire career? He's comfortable with it, period.

The Pingman is a tad too small for me standard but with 3 wraps of tape underneath it's about perfect. I think though the Baby T is my favorite grip. FYI, Golf Pride has 2 new putter grips due out any day now the Tour Classic and the Tour something or other. The Tour Classic is based on the PingMan and the Tour something or other is based on the baby T.

funny this post just came up. i was at GG and was debating between the two for my regrip. I went with the black baby t. both were the same price ~15 bucks.

I might give ping a go next time..

$15 for a Ping man, they retail for like $5.

The grip is a huge factor in how the putter feels to you, why would you put a old slick grip on a $300+ putter.
